Is ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ Streaming Now? When Will it Be on Netflix?
Lowrey and Burnett are back on the case, even if no one around them thinks it’s a good idea…
The baddest detectives in the Miami Police Department are back for another explosive adventure. Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return as Detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett in “Bad Boys: Ride or Die,” which sees its official theatrical debut on Friday, June 7— though of course, preview screenings have already taken place in most theaters around the United States.
Key Facts:
- Critics and audiences alike are enjoying “Bad Boys: Ride or Die.”
- The movie is being distributed by Sony, which means it will stream on Netflix first.
- Viewers should expect to wait around 150 days for the movie to reach on-demand streaming.
“Bad Boys: Ride or Die” finds Detectives Lowrey and Burnett investigating corruption within the MPD. When their former captain is accused of being involved with drug cartels, the two make it their personal mission to clear his name. But their efforts predictably land them in the crosshairs of their colleagues and the cartels alike, and they’ll have to fight their way out if they want to escape with their lives.
The movie has all the makings of a fantastic summer popcorn flick, and 97% of audiences on Rotten Tomatoes who have seen it have given their approval. Sixty-five percent of reviewers agree, with many stating the movie is better than it has any right to be considering the franchise’s longevity.

When is ‘Bad Boys: Ride or Die’ Coming to Netflix, Disney Streamers?
The latest “Bad Boys” sequel is available exclusively in theaters for the moment. It likely won’t take more than a month or two for the film to arrive for rental and purchase on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) services like Vudu, the Apple TV store and Prime Video, but it will probably take a bit longer for the film to reach on-demand streaming.
As a Sony-distributed film, it’s very easy to say where “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” will stream on-demand first: Netflix. The world’s largest streamer continues to be Sony’s Pay-1 recipient, which means that all Sony-distributed films stream on Netflix exclusively for 18 months before moving to a Disney-owned streaming service — likely Hulu in this case, though it will probably debut simultaneously on Disney+ within the Hulu tile on that streamer.
Sony doesn’t get many benefits from a movie once it goes to an on-demand streamer, and thus makes use of extended theatrical windows for most of its films. “Morbius” took 159 days to reach Netflix after its theatrical debut, despite notoriously bad reviews. “Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire” was released 85 days ago, and still doesn’t have an on-demand streaming release in sight. The only recent exception was “Madame Web,” which bowed on Netflix a mere 92 days after its cinematic release.
It doesn’t appear that “Bad Boys: Ride or Die” will be anywhere near the box office and critical disaster that “Madame Web” became, so I anticipate viewers will have to wait at least 150 days for the newest “Bad Boys” adventure to hit Netflix. That would mean audiences shouldn’t expect to see it on Netflix until Monday, November 4 or thereabouts. If that prediction is accurate, it won’t hit Disney streamers until April 2026.
Netflix
Netflix is a subscription video streaming service that includes on-demand access to 3,000+ movies, 2,000+ TV Shows, and Netflix Originals like Stranger Things, Squid Game, The Crown, Tiger King, and Bridgerton. They are constantly adding new shows and movies. Some of their Academy Award-winning exclusives include Roma, Marriage Story, Mank, and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom.
