Is Dennis Quaid’s New Movie ‘Reagan’ Available to Stream? When Will it Be Available to Watch On-Demand?

The film stars Quaid as the 40th president of the United States, whose story is told through the eyes of a KGB agent.

Dennis Quaid and Jon Voight star in this mythological tale of America's 40th president.

What better way to celebrate Labor Day weekend than with a trip to see “Reagan” in theaters? The new movie stars Dennis Quaid as the 40th president of the United States, following him from his small-town beginnings to his rise through Hollywood and his ultimate elevation to the White House. The movie is a theatrical exclusive, but we’ll make our best guess at where you’ll be able to stream it below.

Key Details:

  • “Reagan” has an A-list cast featuring Dennis Quaid and Jon Voight.
  • The movie is distributed by MJM Entertainment, which makes it a bit difficult to determine where it will stream with a subscription.
  • Viewers likely won’t have to wait long to rent “Reagan” on Prime Video and other digital stores.

Watch the Trailer for ‘Reagan’:

“Reagan” follows the life of the titular president from his roots, all the way to becoming commander in chief. Told through the eyes of KGB agent Viktor Petrovich, who became linked with Reagan during his days as a Hollywood actor, the film offers a unique perspective on the 40th president.

The film has not performed well with critics on Rotten Tomatoes, getting a 25% score as of the time of this writing. But 97% of audiences who have seen the film in preview screenings give it a thumbs-up, which suggests that lovers of the former president will find plenty to enjoy about “Reagan.”

When Will ‘Reagan’ Be Available to Stream At Home?

Prime Video and digital rental platforms like it will be the first to get their hands on Reagan.

“Reagan” is being distributed by MJM Entertainment, so it’s not as easy to say where it will stream on-demand with a subscription. The film could likely be licensed to one of several different outlets; Fox Nation, with its wide variety of conservative news and lifestyle programming might be a destination for the movie.

Before the film streams free with a subscription at Fox Nation or another platform, however, it will almost certainly become available to rent or buy on premium video-on-demand (PVOD) platforms like Prime Video. It’s usually only a matter of weeks before the biggest movies in Hollywood come to these digital stores, and “Reagan” will probably follow the same pattern.

Ultimately, I think “Reagan” will only take three weeks to hit Prime Video, the Apple TV store, and other digital outlets. That will allow viewers to stream it at home as soon as Friday, Sept. 20, though they’ll have to pay the purchase or rental fee to watch the movie at that time.
