Is ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ Streaming Now? When Will it Be Available on Apple TV+?
Audiences have been eagerly awaiting the newest Martin Scorsese historical epic, but when will you be able to watch it at home?
The teaming of Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio has historically been a fantastic one, and expectations are high for the duo’s new film “Killers of the Flower Moon.” The movie is sure to generate Oscar buzz from the moment it hits cinemas, and viewers can head to theaters to see it on Friday, Oct. 20.
“Killers of the Flower Moon” tells the story of the Osage, a tribe of Indigenous peoples who found that their reservation happened to be placed on enormous oil field at the turn of the 20th century. This made the Osage the richest nation of people on Earth, and brought the wrath of their white neighbors down on them. The Bureau of Investigation sends an agent to Osage country to investigate the brutal crimes against them, but his true motives are less clear.
The film has garnered a 93% rating to date on Rotten Tomatoes and features an ensemble cast with Lily Gladstone, Robert De Niro, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, Brendan Fraser and more.

“Killers of the Flower Moon” has a truly heroic runtime at 3 hours, 26 minutes, so users who are worried about when to take a bathroom break are likely hoping the film will be released to streaming as well as in theaters. Unfortunately for those harboring these hopes, the movie is only available in theaters on Oct. 20.
The good news is, that “Killers of the Flower Moon” is being distributed by Apple Original Films. That means it’s a guarantee that the movie will stream on Apple TV+ when it does take its final theatrical curtain call, but nailing down a date for that arrival is a bit harder to do.
That’s because Apple has two choices for when to send “Killers of the Flower Moon” to streaming, both of them valid. On the one hand, the company could hew closer to the 45-day minimum that streamers and theater chains have agreed to; that would put the movie on Apple TV+ on December 4, perfect timing to take advantage of holiday viewing.
On the other hand, “Killers” could be a box office smash in a year that has been short on blockbusters. If that’s the case, Apple could leave the movie in theaters until January, which would allow the company to capitalize on awards buzz. The 2024 Academy Awards nominations are scheduled to be released on Jan. 23, though the fact that SAG-AFTRA is still on strike may cause delays in that schedule.
For the moment, we’ll predict that Apple will choose the former course, and that “Killers of the Flower Moon” will arrive on Apple TV+ on Monday, Dec. 4.
