The Lionsgate Collection channel will feature some of the best content found in the company’s TV and film library.
Lionsgate and STARZ might be headed their separate ways, but that doesn’t mean that the studio’s TV and film library has been degraded in quality. Lionsgate still has a great catalog of titles to fall back on, and now DIRECTV is taking advantage of that fact. DIRECTV and Lionsgate are teaming to create the Lionsgate Collection channel, which will be available across multiple DIRECTV products.

The Lionsgate Collection channel will roll out in the coming weeks and will leverage the Lionsgate catalog of more than 20,000 TV shows and movies, specially curated for the DIRECTV audience with titles like “The Expendables,” “Now You See Me,” “Nurse Jackie,” and “Weeds.”

The channel will be available to all DIRECTV satellite and streaming subscribers, as well as to audiences using the MyFree DIRECTV service, which is available to all at no cost, whether or not they have ever been subscribed to a DIRECTV paid offering.

DIRECTV continues to add free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels to the MyFree DIRECTV platform. In April, the service added a selection of channels from NBCUniversal to its collection as well, and now its channel count surpasses 125 individual networks.
