MLS Season Pass returns with new soccer season on Feb. 22
The soccer streaming service will provide every game with no blackouts, including matches from the new club San Diego FC.
The 2025 Major League Soccer season is just around the corner. Starting in late February, each MLS team will get back into action until fall, when the playoffs will begin. It’s the 30th anniversary season for MLS, and the streaming service MLS Season Pass wants to help viewers enjoy in style. MLS Season Pass has announced its plans for the upcoming campaign, including its new Sunday Night Soccer featured game, showcase opportunities for its new club, and more.
Key Details:
- Every team in the league will be in action for opening weekend on Feb. 22-23.
- The new San Diego F.C. will play in the first Sunday Night Soccer match of the season.
- T-Mobile customers will continue to get free access to MLS Season Pass this year.
Each club in the league will play during the kickoff weekend of the 2025 MLS season. MLS MVP Lionel Messi will help get the year started by leading Inter Miami CF against New York City FC in the first match of the season on Saturday, Feb. 22.
Starting this year, fans will get a new featured game of the week on MLS Season Pass, dubbed Sunday Night Soccer. This appointment viewing will start the year with a match on Feb. 23 between the LA Galaxy and San Diego FC, the 30th MLS club that is making its debut this season. “MLS Wrap Up” and “MLS El Resumen” will now follow Sunday Night Soccer each week, allowing fans to get a more complete view of the week’s action.
T-Mobile subscribers will enjoy another free season of access to MLS Season Pass starting Feb. 18. The soccer streamer will be free to T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile customers, a change from 2024 when it was not offered to T-Mobile users free. MLS Season Pass was also free to T-Mobile customers in 2023, so they’re likely glad to see no-cost access to the streamer return.
A partnership with Comcast will allow MLS Season Pass to embed its games directly in the Xfinity TV interface. You’ll still need a separate subscription to MLS Season Pass to watch, but once you’ve got it, you’ll easily be able to navigate to your chosen game in the X1 channel guide or on the Xfinity Stream app.
New for 2025, DIRECTV and MLS Season Pass are also announcing a partnership. Viewers will be able to subscribe to MLS Season Pass through DIRECTV’s satellite plans. The DIRECTV live guide will feature MLS Season Pass matches, and DIRECTV satellite customers will get a free preview of the streamer between Feb. 22 and March 1.
Finally, the season will see Apple TV+ introduce an eight-part soccer documentary series titled “Onside: Major League Soccer.” The docuseries provides unprecedented access to players, coaches, and clubs, and explores the electrifying moments and captivating stories that made the 2024 season unforgettable. The first episode of “Onside: Major League Soccer” will be available for free to all MLS Season Pass subscribers from Feb. 21 to March 3.
