NBA League Pass Hikes Price Ahead of 2024-25 Regular Season
NBA League Pass Hikes Price Ahead of 2024-25 Regular Season
If you live outside the home market of your favorite NBA team, the price to stream their games for the 2024-25 season just got a little more expensive. NBA League Pass is changing prices on both its monthly and annual plans, becoming the latest streaming service to revise its prices upward.
Key Details:
- NBA League Pass is raising the price of its two annual plans by $10 each.
- The cost of League Pass’s monthly plan is also increasing by $2.
- League Pass allows viewers to stream non-national NBA games that don’t feature the team in their current market.
The price change for NBA League Pass was first spotted by TV Answer Man. The service has hiked prices for its annual plans by $10 per month each; customers can now stream League Pass for an entire season for $109.99, or League Pass Premium for $159.99.
The monthly plans of the service have also increased in price by $2. That bumps the cost of League Pass to $16.99 per month, or League Pass Premium to $24.99. Premium subscribers get to watch on up to three devices simultaneously, cut out commercials, and get access to in-arena streams. Both plans offer a livestream of the NBA TV channel.
The NBA also allows customers to pay for a single-team plan it calls Team Pass. This option now costs $13.99 per month or $89.99 per year, and allows you to watch games from a team of your choice so long as that team isn’t playing anywhere on local TV or on a national channel such as ABC, ESPN or TNT.
Local blackout restrictions are in effect with every League Pass subscription option. Viewers cannot watch any games where teams are appearing on broadcast or cable channels (including regional sports networks) in their geographic area; if you’re an Atlanta Hawks fan, for example, you won’t be able to stream any Hawks games with League Pass in or around Atlanta.
NBA League Pass does provide live audio broadcasts of every NBA game on a given night, even local teams. Fans can begin subscribing to the service now; the 2024-25 season begins on Tuesday, Oct. 22 with a doubleheader of games on TNT. The first game will see the New York Knicks take on the NBA champion Boston Celtics at 7:30 p.m. ET, while the second will feature the Minnesota Timberwolves and Los Angeles Lakers at 10 p.m. ET. League Pass tips off on Oct. 23 with a full lineup of games.
Fans who don’t mind missing a few months of the NBA season in exchange for a lower price may want to wait until the new year to subscribe to League Pass. Last January, the NBA dropped the price of League Pass by 50% to allow fans to see crucial playoff races unfold live at a great price.
