Expectations are always high for the Los Angeles Lakers, especially with LeBron James and Anthony Davis on the lineup. But, the Late Show isn’t expected to be a serious contender in the Western Conference this season. Coming off of a 47–35 record in 2023-24 — seventh best out west — and a 4-1 series lost in the first round of the playoffs to the Denver Nuggets, first-year head coach JJ Redick’s squad is projected to only win 43.5 games this season.

Joining Davis and James Sr. in the starting lineup is expected to be D’Angelo Russell at the point, shooting guard Austin Reaves, and Rui Hachimura at the 3. That group was Los Angeles’ most-seen starting five last year and will hope for better results this time out.
