Netflix at work on redesigned website

Netflix at work on redesigned website

The move comes after big overhauls to the Netflix connected TV and mobile apps.

Netflix has already launched major updates for its mobile app and connected TV user interfaces over the past year. Now, the streamer’s website is getting its turn. A new report indicates that Netflix is preparing to launch a redesigned web interface with new show and movie tiles, more metadata, and other changes.

Key Details:

  • Early days: Netflix is testing a new web user interface.
  • Subtle changes: The update is less of a major overhaul and more a series of tweaks.
  • Winds of change: Netflix has recently upgraded its user experience across other devices.

As reported by What's On Netflix, the new Netflix website update will include a suite of smaller changes, as opposed to a complete redesign. App tiles, for example, will feature rounded corners instead of sharp ones, and the gradient background responds to the tiles being shown.

Most notably, the new Netflix web UX will feature extra metadata shown directly on tile art. Viewers will see more little tags like “New Season Coming” or “Highly Rewatched” as they scroll through tile rows on Netflix once the new update is live for all.

One interesting change to note is that a tile row for Netflix’s mobile games seems conspicuously placed at the top of the page. Netflix doesn’t share a lot of data about its mobile games, but it was reported in 2022 that only a tiny sliver of the streamer’s subscribers use them.

The changes to Netflix’s website shouldn’t come as a huge shock to anyone who’s been following the company over the last year. In summer 2025, the streamer began rolling out a new user experience for its smart TV apps, after months of testing. The streamer has also made changes to its mobile app, adding a vertical video feed among other changes.

The new Netflix web experience is still in early testing, so it may be a while before you see any changes applied to your account. But keep a sharp eye open, as a redesigned Netflix web UX could be on its way to your computer soon.
