Netflix rolls out Season Download feature for iPhone users

Netflix rolls out Season Download feature for iPhone users

The Season Download button is now available on iPhone devices.

Isn’t it always a little bit of a bummer when a new feature comes out on your favorite streaming service? iPhone owners had to deal with this dilemma recently, as Netflix rolled out its Season Download feature for other mobile customers, but not for iOS. That omission is now being corrected, however, as Netflix has announced its Season Download option is now launching for iOS users.

Key Details:

  • Season Download was previously only available to Android users.
  • The feature allows Netflix viewers to download entire seasons of a show to watch offline.
  • All Netflix subscribers, including ad-supported can download shows for offline viewing.

The Season Download button was originally launched just for Android users, and Netflix likely needed a little more time to tweak it to be compatible with iOS devices. That tweaking is now finished, and Season Download is coming to iOS device users even now.

This feature allows subscribers facing a long plane ride or trip where they won’t have reliable internet access to download entire seasons of Netflix shows for watching offline. No more need to go through and download episode by episode, just click the Season Download button and get every episode of that season automatically.

To find the Season Download button, just open the show details page on your phone and look toward the right hand side of the screen.

All Netflix customers can download shows and movies to watch offline. That includes subscribers of Netflix’s Standard with Ads plan for $8 per month; normally, ad-supported streaming customers on other services don’t have the option to download titles.

Netflix may have enacted a price increase on all streaming plans in the United States recently, but at least it continues to update its features. Customers using iPhones and other iOS devices will soon be able to use the Season Download button, if the update including the button hasn’t made its way to them already.
