Ring in September with Netflix’s latest offerings!

This month on the streamer, several major series will have their premieres, including the highly anticipated limited series adaptation of the murder mystery “The Perfect Couple,” starring Dakota Fanning, Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, and more. Also on the way are Zack Snyder’s Norse mythology animated series “Twilight of the Gods” and the second half “Emily in Paris” Season 4. On the unscripted side, two of the streamer’s most popular competition series will return: “Outlast” and “The Circle.”

September also brings the long-awaited streaming premiere of the Netflix Original Film “His Three Daughters,” starring Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne, and Elizabeth Olsen as a trio of estranged sisters who reunited to care for their ailing father. After a brief limited theatrical run, the acclaimed drama will come to the streamer later in the month.

The Perfect Couple” | Thursday, Sept. 5

Elin Hilderbrand’s murder-mystery novel gets a limited series adaptation with an all-star cast: Dakota Fanning, Nicole Kidman, Liev Schreiber, Eve Hewson, Billy Howle, Meghann Fahy, Ishaan Khattar, Jack Reynor, Sam Nivola, and more. Set over a Fourth of July weekend on Nantucket, the six-episode series, directed by Emmy and Oscar winner Susanne Bier (“The Night Manager,” “In a Better World”), follows Amelia Sacks (Hewson), a bride marrying into one of Nantucket’s wealthiest families, much to the disapproval of the groom’s mother, Greer Garrison Winbury (Kidman), a famous novelist. When a dead body appears on the beach, celebration turns to suspicion.

Emily in Paris” Season 4 Part 2 | Thursday, Sept. 12

“Emily in Paris” Season 4 finishes up with its second-half batch as Emily (Lily Collins) splits her time between her title setting and a Roman holiday. And while the first half of the season saw Emily finally pick Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) over Alfie (Lucien Laviscount), a business meeting with Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) might turn into pleasure, as well. The ensemble cast of Camille Raza, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu, Thalia Besson, Ashley Park, Paul Forman, Samuel Arnold, Bruno Gouery, and William Abadie finish out the fourth season with them.

Twilight of the Gods” Season 1 | Monday, Sept. 16

Zack Snyder goes 2D with his latest at Netflix. From The Stone Quarry and Xilam animation studios, the Norse mythology series follows Leif (voiced by Stuart Martin), a mortal king, and Sigrid (Sylvia Hoeks), an iron-willed warrior, who survive a wrath of terror from Thor (Pilou Asbæk) that “sets them— and a crew of crusaders—on a merciless mission for vengeance, against all odds.” The voice cast also features John Noble, Paterson Joseph, Rahul Kohli, Jamie Clayton, Kristofer Hivju, Peter Stormare, Jamie Chung, Lauren Cohan, and Corey Stoll, and the epic story will be scored by the legendary Hans Zimmer.

The Queen of Villains” Season 1 | Thursday, Sept. 19

Rewind to the golden age of joshi puroresu when Dump Matsumoto was queen of Japan, whether Japan was ready for her reign or not! Written by Osamu Suzuki and directed by Kazuya Shiraishi, the 1980s set series tells the story of the larger-than-life Matsumoto, a professional wrestler who spurred the women’s professional wrestling boom and became one of the most famous (and hated) heels in Japanese history. Comedian Yuriyan Retriever leads the cast that also features Karata Erika and Goriki Ayame also star as Nagayo Chigusa and Lioness Asuka, respectively, the Japanese pro-wrestling tag-team duo Crush Gals and Matsumoto’s biggest rivals.

His Three Daughters” | Friday, Sept. 20

Following its acclaimed premiere at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival (and its select theatrical run beginning Friday, Sept. 6), the Netflix Original written and directed by Azazel Jacobs makes its streaming premiere. The three-hander stars Carrie Coon, Natasha Lyonne, and Elizabeth Olsen as three estranged sisters who come back together to care for their ailing father. Rudy Galvan, Jose Febus, Jasmine Bracey, Jay O. Sanders, and Jovan Adepo make up the supporting cast.
