Fubo Sports launches; here’s everything you need to know
The new Fubo Sports service is available in select markets now, and we’ll fill you in on all the details you need before signing up.
Fubo has built its brand on being a sports-first streaming service, but in the past, it has always had to deal with annoying carriage deals that required it to carry non-sports channels in order to get access to channels like ESPN, FS1, and TNT. However, the company’s history of serving sports fans is taking a new shape this week, as Fubo is now selling its Fubo Sports service. We got the first substantive details on this product last week, and it officially hit the market on Tuesday, Sept. 2. Now that it’s available, we want to answer all your questions if you’re thinking of subscribing!

Everything you need to know about Fubo Sports
What is Fubo Sports?
Fubo Sports is a sports and news streaming package that includes 20+ channels. It’s intended to help viewers who want to watch sports and news programming without needing to include entertainment cable channels in their plan. It costs nearly $30 less than standard Fubo packages and gives viewers access to a huge number of live sports events.
The Fubo Sports service is part of a growing trend of live TV streaming services offering smaller-sized channel packages focused on a particular segment of programming. The overstuffed cable bundle is being broken into smaller parts at long last, as companies fight against customer losses in part caused by a shift to on-demand streaming services. DIRECTV and Sling TV have also launched smaller channel packages and other products that allow people to access fewer networks or watch for a shorter amount of time.
How much is Fubo Sports?
Fubo Sports costs $56 per month normally, but for a limited time, new customers can get the plan for $46 for their first month, a $10 discount.
Does Fubo Sports have a free trial?
Yes, at the time of this writing, Fubo Sports has a free trial of five days in length. Historically, Fubo’s free trial has varied from customer to customer, and could stretch between one day and seven, depending on several factors such as what time of month you sign up. So, the free trial length for new Fubo Sports customers could change.
What channels are available in Fubo Sports?
The Fubo Sports package comes with 28 channels, including ABC, CBS, and Fox. The package does not currently come with NBC, but you do get this channel starting with the Fubo Pro package at $85 per month.
In addition to those local broadcast channels, you’ll also get ACC Network, Big Ten Network, CBS Sports Network, ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPNU, Fox News, FS1, FS2, Fubo Sports Network, Ion, NFL Network, SEC Network, and Tennis Channel with the Fubo Sports plan. You also get ESPN Unlimited — including ESPN+ — at no extra cost. It’s got a potent lineup of networks, but NBC is a key absence, as are TNT, TBS, and truTV. No Fubo plan currently offers those channels, as the company doesn’t have a carriage deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
Does Fubo Sports have regional sports networks?
Fubo’s TV packages, like the Pro and Elite with Sports Plus plans, come with regional sports networks (RSNs), such as the FanDuel Sports Network family of channels in the respective markets of those channels. Customers have to pay an additional fee of up to $17 per month to watch them, but they include local NBA, NHL, and MLB games for a huge section of the United States.
Fubo Sports does not include these channels, but this omission comes with the upside that customers don’t have to pay extra to watch them. Many RSNs now come with their own direct-to-consumer streaming services in their markets, so if you want to watch them on top of Fubo Sports, you can sign up to them separately and still pay less than the cost of a Fubo Pro subscription.
What major sports can you watch with Fubo Sports?
Fubo Sports includes two top NFL packages: the Sunday afternoon games on CBS and Fox, and the Monday night lineup on ESPN channels. Thursday night games are found on Prime Video, and Sunday night games on NBC and Peacock, none of which are available with a Fubo Sports subscription.
This package has access to all college football on ESPN and Fox channels, as well as ABC and CBS, and conference-affiliated networks. These channels also come with a wide range of other college sports, including men’s and women’s basketball from top conferences.
With access to ABC and ESPN, Fubo Sports will get a big selection of nationally broadcast NBA games. Those channels will also provide coverage of national NHL games, as well as any MLB games on Fox channels. There’ll be a wide range of other sports, including tennis, golf, horse racing, soccer, and much more.
Does Fubo Sports have 4K?
No, there is no 4K content available with a Fubo Sports subscription, despite the presence of Fox channels. Fox networks frequently broadcast sports in 4K, but at the moment, only the Elite with Sport Plus package offers 4K streaming events.
Does Fubo Sports have any free streamers included?
One of the cool things about the DIRECTV Genre Packs, like MySports — a comparable product to Fubo Sports — is that many of them come with access to streaming services at no extra cost. MySports allows viewers to use the new ESPN streaming service, while the MyEntertainment plan comes with Disney+ and Hulu.
Fubo Sports also includes the new ESPN Unlimited in the plan, making it available at no extra cost.
Where is Fubo Sports available, and how do you sign up?
Fubo Sports is rolling out in a selection of markets like Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Miami, New York, and Philadelphia, but other major cities around the United States don’t have it quite yet. The rollout will continue in the coming weeks, so keep an eye out for it! If you do have Fubo Sports in your area, all you need to do to sign up is:
