Everything You Need to Know About Newsmax+, the New Conservative News Streaming Platform

The hard-right news channel now has its own subscription streaming platform, with prices starting at $4.99 per month.

The removal of Newsmax from DIRECTV earlier this year drew sharp protests from ultra-conservative viewers of the channel, who were quick to cry censorship at its withdrawal. DIRECTV insisted there was no political motivation behind the removal, and eventually a new carriage deal brought the channel back to airwaves for DIRECTV customers.

Carriage disputes are only becoming more common as cable and satellite lose customers, however. To help allay audience anxiety that the channel may be pulled from other providers in the future, Newsmax has launched its own direct-to-consumer (DTC) service, imaginatively named Newsmax+, which is available now.

What Is Newsmax+?

Newsmax+ is a paid subscription service that offers a 24/7 stream of the Newsmax channel. The service will feature live and on-demand content, breaking news, commentary, and top hosts such as Rob Schmitt, Greta Van Susteren, Greg Kelly, Eric Bolling, Chris Plante, Carl Higbie, Rob Finnerty, Bianca de la Garza and Chris Salcedo, and frequent guests such as former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee, Dick Morris, Kari Lake, Alan Dershowitz, Victor Davis Hanson and more.

“Millions of Americans are tuning into Newsmax and we want to give them even more content they can stream at home or on their phones,” Chris Ruddy, Newsmax CEO said of the new service.

How Much is a Subscription to Newsmax+?

Newsmax+ offers two price models: $4.99 per month, or $49.99 per year.

Does Newsmax+ Come with a Free Trial?

Yes, users get a 15-day free trial to Newsmax+ whether they sign up for the monthly or annual tier.

What Other Content is Available on Newsmax+?

In addition to the livestream of the linear Newsmax channel, the platform will carry documentaries on former President Donald Trump, Joe Biden’s presidency, faith in America, the rise of “woke,” and much more. It will also feature historical programming, comedy documentaries on figures like Don Rickles and Bob Hope, and a wide variety of other content.

Is Newsmax Still Free to Stream?

No, as of Nov. 1, the flagship Newsmax channel will only be available through pay-TV subscriptions or the Newsmax+ app. The Newsmax2 (N2) channel will still be available to stream for free.

What Devices Can You Use to Stream Newsmax+?

Newsmax+ did not provide a list of compatible devices at launch, but users can check on their favorite smart TV or streaming player to see where they can stream it.
