Holiday Movie Roundup 2023: All of the Christmas Films from Hallmark, Great American Family, Lifetime, More

It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Even though we are smack dab in the middle of Spooky Season, broadcast and cable channels, as well as streaming services, are turning their attention to the holidays. With annual celebrations like Hallmark Channel’s Countdown to Christmas, Great American Family’s Great American Christmas, OWN for the Holidays, It’s a Wonderful Lifetime, and more, there’s no better time to snuggle up on the couch and watch some cozy, feel-good holiday rom-coms.

  • Hallmark will release 40 original movies during it’s around-the-clock Countdown to Christmas.
  • Great American Family will premiere 20 original holiday films during 24/7 Great American Christmas.
  • Streaming services including Disney+, Freevee, Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and the Roku Channel will debut original Christmas films.

With all of the different outlets airing holiday fare, our easy-to-use table of contents will let you jump directly to your broadcaster of choice to see what movies they have to offer:

What’s the way to stream all of the 2023 holiday rom-coms?

If you are a cord-cutter and need to figure out the best way to watch all of this season’s holiday movies on cable, then we have a couple of options for you to consider. The only option to provide access to all of the Christmas movies on cable is DIRECTV STREAM. The platform carries the most top cable channels of any live TV streaming service, so that is no surprise. However, because a number of the channels are on different add-ons, it would be fairly expensive to sign up for all of the channels.

Fortunately, there is a cheaper option. While Philo does not feature the Disney Channel, the only holiday film airing on that network is “The Naughty Nine,” and it will be on Disney+ as well, so if you eliminate that need for that channel, then Philo is a perfect option. After a seven-day free trial, a subscription to the skinny bundle streamer is just $25. So, you can stream all of these movies for just $50 with a subscription.

The next best option is going with the even skinnier bundle, Frndly TV. The only disadvantage of this option is that it does not provide access to OWN. Otherwise, it gives you all of the channels on Philo and is much cheaper. After its own one-week trial, a subscription is just $7.99. That means that you can watch every one of these heart-warming films for less than $16.

Of course, this does not account for all of the original movies on streaming services. In addition to films on Disney+, Freevee, Hulu, Netflix, Prime Video, and The Roku Channel, you can also stream all of the original and legacy movies on the Hallmark Channel and [Hallmark Movies & Mysteries] on Peacock. New movies are available on-demand for 72 hours, but the streamer has a large allotment of library titles and there is also a live feed of every Hallmark movie.
