LIV Golf Plus App Headed to Samsung, Roku-Manufactured Smart TVs
The expansion of the app’s availability means that more users will be able to stream LIV events for free next season.
LIV Golf may have just concluded its Team Championship weekend, but that doesn’t mean the golf league is going anywhere in the long term. In fact, LIV Golf will soon be available to more users on more platforms.
- The LIV Golf Plus app is expanding to Samsung and Roku-manufactured smart TVs.
- Roku’s first line of in-house smart TVs first became available this year.
- Users can also watch LIV Golf free on The CW app.
More Golf on Your TV

The LIV Golf Plus app, which was built by the streaming solutions firm ViewLift, is now available on Samsung and Roku-manufactured smart TVs manufactured before 2019. In addition, the app is available on Android and iOS-powered devices such as phones, tablets, and streaming players.
“By enabling Roku and Samsung Smart TV owners to watch LIV Golf action, ViewLift has boosted the number of golf fans that we can reach globally,” said Will Staeger, Chief Media Officer, LIV Golf. “Working with ViewLift as our OTT partner has been a huge success, enabling us to rapidly expand the number of golf fans we reach on web, mobile, and Smart TV through the LIV Golf Plus app.”
The LIV Golf Plus app allows viewers to watch every live event of the LIV season, as well as replays, highlights, and analysis. There’s no cost to download the app, and no paid subscription is needed to start watching. The app also gives viewers the chance to head to the driving range or practice green with their favorite golfers, and follow them around the course with dedicated team streams.
“The LIV Golf Plus app enables golf fans to enjoy many of the world’s greatest golfers on key platforms,” said ViewLift president Manik Bambha. “With this launch, the LIV Golf Plus app can now be enjoyed by households that own the world’s most popular Smart TV brand and North America’s top ad-supported streaming service, furthering LIV Golf’s consumer reach and monetization.”
The LIV Golf Plus app will be available on Roku TVs manufactured both in-house and by third parties. Roku-branded smart TVs have been on the market for years, but it wasn’t until this year that the company began offering its own line of connected TV sets that allow users to start streaming instantly.
How Else Can You Stream LIV Golf?

LIV Golf is also available to stream for free on The CW app, which offers all live events at no cost to users. Customers can also find LIV Golf on the linear CW channel if it is available in their area.
LIV Golf is billed as being a louder, faster, and more action-packed version of the classic golf game. The league announced a potential merger with the PGA Tour over the summer, but anti-competitive concerns arising from the United States Department of Justice could put that plan in jeopardy. LIV is funded by the Saudi Public Investment fund, and has generated controversy as some view the league as a way to distract attention from the Saudi government’s history of human rights abuses.
