Philo customers can now purchase ALLBLK add-on subscriptions
The streamer specializes in original content made by Black creators and aimed at Black audiences.
The live TV streaming service Philo is one of the more interesting streamers available. It doesn’t carry much in the way of live sports networks or local broadcast channels, but it does offer some very popular cable networks, and it only charges $28 per month for a subscription. Customers can even add on-demand streaming services to their account for an extra monthly fee, and on Wednesday Philo announced that it was welcoming a new member into that group of streamers: ALLBLK.
Key details:
- Philo subscribers can add ALLBLK for $7 per month.
- The ALLBLK add-on comes with a seven-day free trial.
- The streamer comes with original series, movies, and even stage plays.
Philo subscribers can now add an ALLBLK account to their subscription starting at $7 per month. That price doesn’t factor in the convenience of being able to keep an ALLBLK subscription on the same monthly bill as Philo, as well as any other add-ons customers purchase, such as the MGM+ App or STARZ.
As the name might suggest, ALLBLK specializes in content that’s geared toward Black audiences. Its inventory includes original shows like “Double Cross” and “A House Divided,” titles from WE tv, independent movies, reality TV shows, and even a selection of stage plays.
“ALLBLK was the first streaming service created to spotlight Black voices and talent,” Philo said of the new addition to its add-on library. “With its fresh name and growing library, ALLBLK delivers entertainment that is inclusively, but unapologetically, Black. “
I recently dinged Philo for not offering as many add-on subscription options as other live TV streamers, so it’s nice to see the service continuing to bolster its selection of supplemental on-demand platforms. Philo customers can now add ALLBLK starting at $7 per month on top of a $28 base channel plan.
