What Are the Benefits of Ad-Supported Streaming?

The main advantage of ad-supported streaming is that it is often significantly cheaper than ad-free plans. Paramount+ Essential is only half the cost of its ad-free counterpart, for example, and a report from October indicates that the average customer could save hundreds of dollars per year by switching to plans with ads as opposed to continuing with only ad-free streamers.

The best news for streaming customers is that streaming platforms usually offer significantly fewer ads per hour than cable or broadcast TV, which usually top out at 15 to 20 minutes of ads per hour.
