Prime Video launches news hub with streaming channels
Viewers can see breaking political news, financial stories, and talk shows at no additional cost in the hub.
Prime Video doesn’t just come with a large selection of TV shows and movies that customers can watch with a subscription. It also features a wide array of free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) channels that audiences can watch at no extra cost, coming in a selection of different categories. Prime Video offers several news channels among these choices, and is now grouping these channels into a programming hub that will make it easier for viewers to see breaking stories and similar programming.
Key Details:
- Breaking news: Prime Video is launching a dedicated news hub on its home page.
- Multiple sources: The hub will include channels from ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox, and others.
- No extra charge: The news hub will be available free to all Amazon customers.
This news hub is rolling out for all Prime Video customers now and will be launched to all customers by the end of the year. Subscribers who already have the tab with their account will find it in the top navigation bar on the Prime Video app across thousands of devices.
The hub features FAST channels from many different major news sources. Options available include ABC News Live, CBS News 24/7, LiveNOW from Fox, CNN Headlines, NBC News NOW, and many others within the hub, allowing viewers to see breaking stories, financial news, sports headlines, and much more.
This news hub is available to all Amazon customers at no cost, which makes sense considering the channels within are all available to stream free on other outlets as well. Viewers who want even more news access through Prime Video can sign up to streamers like Paramount+, Peacock, or Fox One and watch their content through the Prime Video app.
Customers can also click the Live tab on the Prime Video home page to browse through the hundreds of free streaming channels the service has to offer. Viewers can sort their channels into categories like sports, reality TV, daytime drama, and many more, simplifying the view and making it easier to browse through the service.
Viewers can sign up for Prime Video by itself starting at $9 per month, or as a benefit of the larger Amazon Prime service for $15 per month.
