Banana Ball heads to HBO Max for 19 games to close out 2025
Banana Ball heads to HBO Max for 19 games to close out 2025
The Savannah Bananas and the other Banana Ball teams will make their HBO Max debut on Saturday, Aug. 16.
Have you caught the fever yet? Banana fever, that is! The Savannah Bananas and their patented brand of Banana Ball are coming to a new streaming home in August: HBO Max. The streamer — along with truTV — will be hosting a good number of Banana Ball games to close out the 2025 campaign, including the first-ever season-ending tournament that will see the league’s winner declared.
Key Details:
- Just shy of 20: HBO Max and truTV will host 19 Banana Ball games through October.
- Called up to the bigs: Eight consecutive weekends of Banana Ball coverage will be offered from MLB ballparks.
- Pioneering coverage: TNT Sports will cover the inaugural Tour Championship.
The schedule of 19 Banana Ball games headed to truTV and HBO Max begins on Saturday, Aug. 16 at 8 p.m. ET. Nearly all games on the schedule will be presented in primetime, and will be played on a Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, making for perfect weekend viewing for the whole family.
The games will see the Savannah Bananas face the Firefighters, Party Animals, and Texas Tailgaters. Audiences will recognize big-league ballparks in the tour as well; for eight weekends in a row, Bananas games will take place inside MLB stadiums like Pittsburgh’s PNC Park, Petco Park in San Diego, Yankee Stadium in The Bronx, T-Mobile Park in Seattle, and Daikin Park in Houston.
HBO Max will present these games on its platform for all subscribers in the United States, which is a bit of a change from its normal sports arrangement. In February, Warner Bros. Discovery made a change to the way it offers sports on its streamer; instead of all plans getting live sports content via the Bleacher Report Sports Add-On, only the ad-free tiers now receive access to TNT Sports programming.
The Banana Ball season will conclude in 2025 with the first-ever Tour Championship, starting in October. It will be a multi-day tournament that sees all four teams compete for the Banana Ball Title, taking the antics of the sport to a height never before seen — or at least, we hope.
