Great prices on NAS devices that help you cut out the cloud and subscription fees.
I’ve been using a NAS as a home server for the past few months, and it’s been awesome. Not only can I back up essential files and photos, but I’ve also gone down the rabbit hole with Docker and run all kinds of apps — from page change detection to syncing files across devices to a full-bore home media server. I was always a bit intimidated when it came to servers and home networking, but it really didn’t take that long to get up and running with some really cool features, partly thanks to how easy UGREEN makes it.
Amazon Prime Big Deal Days
October 6 & 7
During Prime Big Deal Days, there are some great offers on UGREEN NAS devices if you’re also looking to get started with home backup or your own media server. There are small two-bay units, massive eight-bay units, and everything in between. You will have to pick up hard drives to go with these, but the savings on them definitely help offset the overall cost.
For anyone needing an easy entry point, the two-bay DXP2800 handles everyday home backups, local media streaming, and private cloud tasks without taking up much desk space. A smaller unit means a smaller price and fewer hard drives you’ll need to purchase. Moving up to the 4-bay DXP4800 Plus gives you significantly more storage capacity and a noticeable boost in processing speed, making it the most balanced and best-in-between pick for multi-user households or small offices.
At the top tier — and for those with much larger budgets — the six-bay DXP6800 Pro and massive eight-bay DXP8800 Plus are built for heavy data workflows. Packing Intel Core processors, multi-gigabit connectivity, and support for lightning-fast NVMe caching, these systems easily handle high-demand workloads such as simultaneous multi-stream video editing, virtualization, and massive archive management.
No matter which you choose, you’ll be well on your way to creating your home media server or making sure your files stay safely backed up without worrying about the cloud — or subscription fees!
