Broadcast TV is coming back strong on CBS this week, but there’s a lot more to stream!
Try as I might, and no matter my best efforts to prevent it from happening, Monday has arrived once again. For everyone around the United States who doesn’t get to take the day off for Indigenous People’s Day, it’s just another mundane five-day work week.
That being the case, I’ve assembled another list of new shows and movies premiering on TV and on-demand streaming services this week to help chase the blues away. Check out the best titles coming to a service or network near you every day!
Monday, Oct. 14
“NCIS: Origins” Series Premiere | CBS, watch with a seven-day free trial of Paramount+ with SHOWTIME
“NCIS: Origins” follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) in 1991. Mark Harmon played Gibbs in the original series and returns to narrate the prequel story.

“Beyond Black Beauty” follows young equestrian Jolie Dumont, whose Olympic dreams are dashed when her mother moves them from Belgium to her family’s urban ranch in Baltimore. Forced to leave behind her friends and the only life she’s ever known, Jolie thinks her life as she planned it is over.
An angry Jolie wants to escape until she bonds with a spirited horse named Black Beauty. Jolie will learn to embrace her heritage while continuing toward her Olympic-hopeful future and discover the value of family and home.
“Shrinking” Season 2 Premiere | Apple TV+
“Shrinking” follows Jimmy Laird, a therapist who decides to take the radical approach of telling his patients exactly what he thinks they should do. This predictably has several unintended consequences, but the most lasting is that Jimmy’s patient Sean comes to live with him, breaking all boundaries between therapist and patient.
Season 2 will see Jimmy try to continue moving past the death of his wife, forging a closer relationship with his daughter, and trying to help his patients as best he can. Meanwhile, his mentor Dr. Paul Rhodes will continue to grapple with the advance of his Parkinson’s Disease.

“Fanatical: The Catfishing of Tegan and Sara” Documentary Premiere | Hulu
Tegan and Sara ascended to global fame as one of the most influential queer indie rock bands of their generation. Fans found within the community the only safe space to come out and be queer during a time when few bands would declare allyship, let alone celebrate their own queer identity.
But a bad actor took advantage of the community’s trust and comfort. Tegan and Sara’s world turned upside down when Tegan’s personal files were hacked in 2011, revealing the dark side of fame and fandom. This is a sprawling yet intimate story of how Tegan’s identity was stolen and weaponized in a complex catfish scheme to ensnare members of this community.

Travel to Cleveland, Ohio for the 2024 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony without having to leave your couch! Being granted membership in the hall is one of music’s highest honors, and fans can stream the entire ceremony live on Disney+ this year.
Inductees for 2024 include Mary J. Blige, Cher, the Dave Matthews Band, Foreigner, Peter Frampton, Kool & the Gang, and Dionne Warwick. In addition, the evening will feature a tribute to Ozzy Osborne, who will be inducted as a solo artist after already being included in the hall as a member of Black Sabbath.
