Netflix will roll out new episodes of Sesame Street on Nov. 10.

I may not be able to tell you exactly how to get to Sesame Street, but I can say when. “Sesame Street” is preparing to launch on its new streaming home of Netflix, which took over rights to the show in a much-publicized deal earlier this year. Fans had been waiting for more information about precisely when “Sesame Street” would debut on Netflix with new episodes, and we have our answer at last.

Key Details:

  • Give thanks: The first four episodes of “Sesame Street” are coming to Netflix on Nov. 10.
  • Same day drop: New episodes of “Sesame Street” will be available on Netflix the same day as they air on PBS.
  • Shaking things up: This season of “Sesame Street” has adopted a different episode format.

Netflix announced the premiere date for “Sesame Street” along with several other shows, but the launch of the beloved kids show was a big enough deal to warrant its own post on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter. The post reveals that the new season of “Sesame Street” will hit Netflix on Nov. 10.

The first four episodes of the season will arrive on that date. Following Nov. 10, new episodes of “Sesame Street” will be released on Netflix the same day-and-date that they arrive on PBS stations in the United States, as well as PBS Kids digital platforms that stream other properties from the station on demand.

Formerly, new episodes of “Sesame Street” streamed on HBO Max. But that service has made a concerted shift away from kids programming in recent months, and that decision left the decades-old “Sesame Street” on the hunt for a new place to stream its episodes. Netflix was all too happy to pick up the rights to the show once they moved on from HBO Max.

Netflix was announced as the new partner of “Sesame Street” in May. At that time, it was also revealed that the show would undergo a format change to feature more character-driven storytelling, much like popular contemporary kids series like “Bluey.” Fans can see for themselves whether they like the new format when “Sesame Street” premieres on Netflix on Nov. 10.
