‘Severance’ Season 1 streaming free on Roku Channel now
The movie is intended to build excitement of the upcoming second season of the Apple TV+ thriller series.
It’s been an impressive few weeks for The Roku Channel as far as content additions go. The free streaming service has added an intriguing mix of new live sporting events, but its latest arrival is one of the most highly-regarded streaming originals of the past few years. The Roku Channel is now offering Season 1 of “Severance” for free, ahead of the release of Season 2 exclusively on Apple TV+ later this month.
Key Details:
- “Severance” is a sci-fi thriller that centers on the employee of a company that can keep employees from remembering work during their home lives.
- The first season of the show will be free to stream on The Roku Channel until Jan. 19.
- Season 2 of ‘Severance’ premieres on Apple TV+ on Jan. 17.
“Severance” centers on the employees of Lumon Industries, a company with a very murky purpose, but has the unusual distinction of developing a procedure that allows employees to compartmentalize their home and work lives, making them forget everything that happens at their job once they get home and vice versa. Some Lumon employees want to dig deeper into the process, but the further they go, the more danger they find.
If that sounds compelling and you want to catch up before Season 2 drops, but you aren’t signed up for Apple TV+, you can stream the entire first season of the show completely free on The Roku Channel now. You’ll have to put up with ads to watch, but if you’ve already used up your seven-day free trial of Apple TV+, it’s a great way to catch up on the series before the next batch of episodes comes out.
In addition to free episodes, viewers on Roku devices can access a new Fan Experience for “Severance.” This includes a sneak peek at Season 2, and an exclusive cast interview with character introductions for some of the show’s most important figures. New subscribers can also redeem three free months of Apple TV+ if they sign up through The Roku Channel.
Viewers will be able to watch free episodes of “Severance” on The Roku Channel until Jan. 19. Season 2 of the show premieres exclusively on Apple TV+ on Jan. 17, and is likely to draw the same rave reviews that Season 1 generated when it comes out.
