‘Alien: Earth’ finale, ‘Slow Horses,’ more to stream this week
There’s some pretty high-quality scripted TV premieres hitting top streamers this week.
In last week’s Something to Stream article, I had plenty of reality TV to steer viewers toward. That may not have been everyone’s favorite, but I tried my best to give viewers something to watch besides football, and there was plenty of great unscripted content premiering last week to watch.
This week is for the fans of scripted TV all the way. There are some really cool premieres coming to top services this week, including a show that I’ve been keeping my eye on for months. What are my top picks for shows and movies premiering on streamers this week? Read on to find out!

‘Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal limited series premiere | Hulu
“Into the Void: Life, Death & Heavy Metal” is a groundbreaking documentary series that explores the epic struggles and the cultural impacts made by Heavy Metal’s most compelling artists. Exploring the history of the genre, the series will speak to some of the most influential voices in metal over the decades.
Their intensely personal stories about finding success offer an intoxicating combo of volume and distortion delivered via pulsating tales of murder, addiction, rebellion, and redemption. The only thing more unbelievable than the lyrics on the stage are the stories from behind the scenes.

Things have gone far, far out of control on “Alien: Earth.” That fate was more or less assured when a wayward Weyland-Yutani vessel packed with Xenomorph specimens crashed into a Prodigy Corporation city on Earth, and cemented when the corporation’s CEO decides to send in his company’s latest breakthrough — human/synthetic hybrids — in to stem the crisis.
That group of hybrids willingly dives into a situation they have no way of knowing is filled with lethal danger. Their leader Wendy, has discovered a startling secret: she has a psychic connection with the Xenomorphs, and now she has the opportunity to turn them against her enemies at Prodigy.

‘Slow Horses’ Season 5 premiere | Apple TV+
Season 4 of “Slow Horses” was a doozy. Fans finally get more details about the background of River Cartwright, whose biological father is revealed to be former CIA agent Frank Harkness. Frank’s compromising information on MI5 led to his disappearance, but things don’t go so well for Slough House’s Marcus Longridge, who was killed in the season finale.
Season 5 promises to dig deeper into the lives of the Slough House operatives, particularly their unpleasant leader Jackson Lamb. A series of bizarre events is occurring across London, and it falls to the team to find out what’s going on before the nefarious endgame of the plot comes to fruition.

‘House of Guinness’ series premiere | Netflix
“House of Guinness” transports viewers back to the grimy streets of 19th-century Dublin and New York. The series reimagines the time immediately following the death of Sir Benjamin Guinness, the man who created the Guinness brewery empire that endures to this day.
The passing of the Guinness scion will have profound consequences for his four adult children — not to mention the citizens of Dublin whose lives are affected by the fate of the brewery. This series was created by Steven Knight, who also crafted “Peaky Blinders” for Netflix, and I’ve been very excited for its premiere.

Armed with wild new upgrades and her same iconic attitude, M3GAN claps back against the wannabe techno-terror in a fierce faceoff to crown the baddest bot built for maximum mayhem. Peacock is welcoming the theatrical version of the movie, as well as the special unrated edition on the same day.
