The Star Trek franchise is back with a new series as well, and ‘Stranger Things’ says one final goodbye.
It’s an interesting time of year for TV and movie releases. The NFL owns broadcast TV on Saturdays and Sundays, and primetime programming during the week usually consists of shows that are returning from their midseason hiatuses. And of course, some great blockbuster movies are coming to streaming when studios want to attract attention in the For Your Consideration season.
That creates some great opportunities for viewers to catch something new to stream at the beginning of January. What top options are coming to your favorite streamers this week? Check out our list of new premieres to watch!

This may not be the secret, real final episode of “Stranger Things” that the Conformity Gate crowd wanted so desperately to be released. But it will give fans a chance to hear from the show’s cast their thoughts on its last season, and to bid farewell to one of Netflix’s most successful titles in its history.
