A new trailer is now available for the animated series "Stranger Things: Tales from '85"

It’s been over a month since “Stranger Things” put out its final episode, and fans are still likely getting over the emotional shock of knowing the show is truly over. But there are more tales from Hawkins, Indiana inbound; Netflix is preparing to release the series “Stranger Things: Tales from '85,” which features familiar characters from the show in a new animated adventure. On Monday, Netflix revealed when fans could expect to see the new series and dropped the first trailer for “Tales from ‘85” as well.

Key Details:

  • Spring into action: “Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85” will be released on April 23.
  • Check it out: The new trailer for the series is available now.
  • Back in time: The show takes place between Seasons 2 and 3 of “Stranger Things.”

As announced on Monday, Netflix will release “Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85” on Thursday, April 23. Unlike previous seasons of the live-action series, there’s probably no reason to fear that “Tales from ‘85” will be split into multiple parts and released over the course of months.

The animated show will take place between Seasons 2 and 3 of the original “Stranger Things” series, and will bring back characters well-known to fans, including Eleven, Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, and Max. Over the winter of 1985, the gang must fight new monsters and unravel a mystery surrounding the Upside Down.

Although some actors from the original series returned to “Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85,” most of the principal characters in the series will be voiced by new performers. In addition, the show will introduce a new character named Nikki Baxter, though this character’s absence in later episodes of the show could foreshadow a sinister fate.

Watch “Stranger Things: Tales from ‘85” starting on April 23 with any Netflix plan. The service has subscription options available starting at $8 per month for its Standard with Ads plan.
