The NFL season officially arrives on Thursday, but there’s plenty of other titles coming to streaming services for non-football fans to enjoy.
Labor Day weekend can signify so many things. For some, it’s nothing more than a good excuse to take a Monday off. For others, it’s the unofficial start of fall, meaning it’s either time to celebrate the approach of Spooky Season or mourn the loss of summer.

Monday, Sept. 2
‘Chestnut vs. Kobayashi: Unfinished Beef’ | Netflix
What better way to celebrate the official end of summer than with a hot dog eating contest? Famed gurgitator Joey Chestnut was banned from the annual Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on July 4, after officially lending his endorsement to a competing product.
Netflix was quick to pounce on that opportunity, setting up a showdown between Chestnut and his main rival Takeru Kobayashi in a rematch of their 2009 bout. It promises to be an epic battle between two champion eaters, with no small amount of pride on the line.

‘Thursday Night Football’ Season Premiere | NBC, stream with a subscription to Peacock
The kickoff of the 2024 NFL season is something fans have been waiting for ever since the Kansas City Chiefs once again hoisted the Lombardi trophy in February. The Chiefs will face Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in a rematch of the 2023-24 AFC Championship game.
The Chiefs are hoping that 2024 first-round wide receiver Xavier Worthy can help open up a vertical part of their offense that hasn’t been there since Tyreek Hill left the team. Big Ten Saturday Night: Colorado Buffaloes vs. Nebraska Cornhuskers | NBC, stream with a subscription to Peacock
The 2024 college football season is not to be ignored, and this is one of the best rivalries of Week 2. Nebraska stayed in the Big Ten over the offseason, but Colorado swapped conferences from the Pac-12 to the Big 12 after it became clear that the Pac-12 was not going to hold together past 2023.
No matter the conference alignment, however, Colorado vs. Nebraska has always been one of college football’s most intense rivalries. It takes on a new flavor with all the controversies surrounding high-profile Buffaloes coach Deion Sanders, who has spent his offseason sparring with media and promising big things from his program in year two.
