Streamers to keep in October 2026
AMC+
AMC+ has a couple of must-see titles debuting this month, starting with a bang on Oct. 2, when the streamer will release its new action thriller series “Kill Jackie.” The series stars Catherine Zeta-Jones as a former international drug kingpin who is thrust back into a life of danger and mayhem when she becomes the target of an elite hit squad.

A few weeks later, AMC+ will get into the spirit of Spooky Season with the release of “Yaga,” slated for Oct. 23. The series will star Carrie-Ann Moss and is inspired by the legend of Baba Yaga. In a small coastal town, a private detective is called upon to investigate the disappearance of the heir to a lucrative fishing concern. Soon, this investigator finds himself tangled in a web of enigmatic suspects and ancient magic, and he may not make his way out again.
AMC+ is also home to content from Shudder, giving horror fans a huge library of TV episodes and movies from across the decades to get into the spirit of Spooky Season. Monthly AMC+ plans start at $8, but new subscribers can get the annual Premium plan for just $40 with a limited-time discount.
AMC+
AMC+ is a premium subscription streaming bundle owned by AMC Networks. It offers curated access to award-winning originals, indie films, and prestige television. Launched in June 2020, the service combines content from AMC with flagship brands such as BBC America, IFC, Sundance TV, Shudder, Sundance Now, and IFC Films Unlimited, delivering a rich library of exclusive programming and early episode access.
Apple TV
While there are some premieres we’re tracking on Apple TV in October, the streamer is really a must-keep because of the big-name finales that will arrive over the course of the month. That starts on Oct. 7, when the Season 4 finale of “Ted Lasso” will stream on Apple TV. It feels like Ted’s journey with the AFC Richmond women’s team just started, but fans will have to say goodbye to the series for a year or two in just a few days.
The Season 6 finale of “Slow Horses” will also stream on Apple TV this month, coming to the streamer on Oct. 21. And there’s no knowing how Season 2 of “Dark Matter” will end, so fans will want to make sure they tune in for the finale episode on Oct. 30 — the same day that the new Apple TV series “Nocturne” premieres.

Apple TV simply has too many big-name finales airing this month for fans of the streamer to let it go. Apple TV costs $15 per month, and new customers who are curious about the service can enjoy a seven-day free trial when they first sign up.
Apple TV
Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.
Netflix
It’s hard to think of a month in which Netflix doesn’t have something huge coming to streaming, but its release calendar in October is quite heavy with the return of scripted titles. Its adaptation of the John Steinbeck classic “East of Eden” arrives on Oct. 1, and Season 4 of “The Diplomat” with Keri Russel debuts on Oct. 15. Its popular comedy series “Nobody Wants This” Season 3 is slated to bow on Oct. 22.

Reality TV fans will flock to Netflix in October for the premiere of “Love is Blind” Season 11. Consistently one of the most popular unscripted shows on streaming, “Love is Blind” Season 11 will chart a course for New England, where they’ll try to set up 30 singles from Boston with the loves of their lives. “Love is Blind” Season 11 debuts on Netflix on Oct. 14.
Viewers will be able to stream all of this content on every Netflix plan, starting with the ad-supported Standard with Ads tier for $9 per month. There aren’t a ton of live sports to check out on Netflix this month, but the streamer ramps up its sports offerings again in November.
Streamers to cancel in Oct. 2026
HBO Max
For a while there, it felt like HBO Max couldn’t stop the hit parade if it tried. The streamer had a big 2026, with new seasons of “Hacks,” “House of the Dragon,” “The Pitt,” and more, not to mention the debut of “Lanterns,” one of my favorite superhero shows in quite a while. The new HBO original series “War” is coming to the streamer on Oct. 1, but otherwise, its release calendar is fairly sparse — especially when compared to the streamers listed above.
Viewers may want to come back to HBO Max around the holidays for the release of the new “Harry Potter” TV series. But at least for the next month, viewers can probably put an HBO Max subscription on hold while they explore something new.
HBO Max
HBO Max is a subscription video streaming service that gives access to the full HBO library and exclusive Max Originals. There are hubs for content from TLC, HGTV, Food Network, Discovery, TCM, Cartoon Network, Travel Channel, ID, and more. Watch hit series like “The Last of Us,” “House of the Dragon,” “Succession,” “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” and more. Within HBO Max, B/R Sports allows users to watch live NBA, MLB, NHL, March Madness, and NASCAR events.
Disney+
Let me start by saying that, despite my overall Marvel fatigue, I am genuinely excited for the release of “VisionQuest” on Disney+ on Oct. 14. Outside of that new series, however, the Disney+ release calendar is pretty quiet in October, and with Disney+ opting to raise prices for the fourth year in a row recently, there’s no doubt that many viewers will likely seek other streaming harbors in the month to come.
Disney+
Disney+ is a video streaming service with over 13,000 series and films from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, The Muppets, and more. It is available in 61 countries and 21 languages. It is notable for its popular original series like “The Mandalorian,” “Ms. Marvel,” “Loki,” “Obi-Wan Kenobi,” and “Andor.”
