You don’t have to look too hard to find the news that YouTube TV announced that in January it will be raising prices by $10 per month, bringing the cost of the service up to $83 monthly. This change has not been received well by customers and even has some customers looking for alternatives already. Unfortunately, YouTube TV doesn’t offer a way to prepay for the year to save you money on the service, but there appears to be another way to help you save a bit on the service.

As spotted by the team at 9to5Google, and confirmed by The Streamable, YouTube TV appears to be offering some customers a six-month price lock at the current rate. This means that you’ll be able to keep the $73 per month price from January through June 2025, after which point it will renew at $83 if you continue your service.

- Log into your YouTube TV account
- Go to Settings
- Select Membership
- Click on Manage next to your current subscription
- Click Cancel at the bottom
- Select Price as the reason for canceling
- If you’re eligible, you’ll see a prompt for the six-month price lock-in
- Agree to the terms of it, and you’re set
