This Week’s Biggest Streaming News:
YouTube’s TV app prepares to streamline its on-demand channels

Already the top-performing service, YouTube is ready to make a move to keep you in its ecosystem even more. The Google-owned platform is reportedly planning to start integrating shows and movies from subscription video-on-demand (SVOD) streamers into the YouTube homepage, an expansion of its Primetime Channels feature.
YouTube launched its Primetime Channels over two years ago, allowing consumers to sign up for subscription video-on-demand streaming services like Paramount+, AMC+, and more, from directly inside the YouTube website and app, but those channels were previously housed under the app’s Movies and TV page.
With the update, which is expected to go public in the next few months, subscribers will be able to find select popular titles from popular Primetime Channels via YouTube’s homepage, in addition to channels from YouTube creators. The move will more closely match hubs like Prime Video and Apple TV+, keeping subscribers on YouTube’s interface instead of needing to switch over to another service.
Currently, Primetime Channels offers over 40 individual channels and streamers, as well as out-of-market sports packages like NFL Sunday Ticket, NBA League Pass, WNBA League Pass, and more. Costs range from $2 to $17 per month.
YouTube TV
YouTube TV is a live TV streaming service with more than 60 channels for $82.99/month. This plan includes local channels 32 of the top 35 cable channels, and regional sports networks (RSNs) in select markets. The base plan includes more than 100 live channels, including major broadcast networks like ABC, CBS, FOX, and NBC, as well as popular cable channels such as ESPN, CNN, FX, USA Network, and TNT. Local channels are included in most markets, making YouTube TV a full replacement for traditional cable for many viewers.
Catch up this weekend: ‘Daredevil’ is ‘Born Again’

There’s been a good amount of changing of the guard since Marvel’s “Daredevil” premiered on Netflix back in 2015, but since Disney has launched a streaming service of its own, it was only a matter of time before Matt Murdock fought his way back to TV.
This past Tuesday, March 4, the new Disney+ revival series “Daredevil: Born Again” had its long-awaited debut, premiering the first two episodes of its nine-episode first season. The 13th series in the MCU and a continuation of the Netflix series, “Born Again” begins several years later and follows Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities fighting for justice at his New York law firm while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavors in the city. As their past identities begin to emerge, the pair set down an inevitable collision course of good and evil.

What’s new this weekend: ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ says goodbye

Praise be: after a year and a half, Gemstone Salvation Center has reopened its doors.
The hit HBO black comedy series “The Righteous Gemstones,” created by Danny McBride, is back for its fourth season, as the family of famous televangelists and megachurch pastors continue to grow their legacies (and bank accounts).
In Season 4, the Gemstone family’s codependence will be tested as they attempt to move forward without letting go of their storied past. God is not always fair, though: this will be the final season of the acclaimed comedy, which has been since its 2019 premiere an irreverent look at the greed, corruption, and hypocrisy in the world of celebrity televangelism.
Watch the trailer for Season 4 of ‘The Righteous Gemstones’ below:
The final season will welcome back major players Danny McBride, Adam Devine, John Goodman, Edi Patterson, Cassidy Freeman, Tim Baltz, Tony Cavalero, Greg Alan Williams, Skyler Gisondo, Walton Goggins, Jennifer Nettles, James DuMont, Jody Hill, Troy Hogan, Valyn Hall, Kelton DuMont, and Gavin Munn. Additionally, Megan Mullally, Seann William Scott, and Arden Myrin will appear in guest roles.
The first episode of Season 4 will premiere on March 9 at 10 p.m. ET/9 p.m. CT on both HBO and Max with a new episode available every Sunday through May 4.
