What are the 5 Best Shows and Movies Leaving Netflix in February 2024?
“Chicken Run” | Wednesday, Feb. 14
More than 23 years after its release, 2000’s “Chicken Run” still holds the record as the highest-grossing stop motion animated film of all time, beating all “Wallace and Gromit” features to top the list. The claymation adventure follows an American rooster who falls in love with a hen on a British farm and must help her and the other chickens escape to avoid being turned into chicken pot pies. Julia Sawalha, Mel Gibson, Miranda Richardson, Tony Haygarth, Benjamin Whitrow, Timothy Spall, Phil Daniels, Jane Horrocks, Imelda Staunton, and Lynn Ferguson lead the voice cast. The flagship film may be departing, but you can still watch last year’s Netflix Original sequel “Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget.”

“Snowpiercer” | Wednesday, Feb. 28
“Parasite” director Bong Joon-ho makes his English-language debut with the post-apocalyptic sci-fi film, which inspired a series of the same name. Chris Evans leads the cast as Curtis Everett, the lead of the lower-class passengers on the title train, which circumnavigates the glove and carries the last of humanity after a failed attempt to engineer an end to global warming resulted in a Snowball Earth. Song Kang-ho, Tilda Swinton, Jamie Bell, Octavia Spencer, Go Ah-sung, John Hurt, and Ed Harris also lead the cast.

“Dredd” | Thursday, Feb. 29
Judge Dredd comes to life in Pete Travis’ 2012 adaptation. Karl Urban plays the title law enforcer, who has been given “the power of judge, jury, and executioner in a vast, dystopic metropolis called Mega-City One that lies in a post-apocalyptic wasteland.” With his rookie partner, Judge Anderson (Olivia Thirlby), Dredd must bring order to a massive high-rise block of apartments and deal with resident drug lord Ma-Ma (Lena Headey) and her clansman (Wood Harris).

Part One of the sci-fi epic will soon get its continuation, so take some time to rewatch or catch up before the end of the month. Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Oscar Isaac, Josh Brolin, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista, Stephen McKinley Henderson, Zendaya, Chang Chen, Sharon Duncan-Brewster, Charlotte Rampling, Jason Momoa, and Javier Bardem lead the ensemble cast of Denis Villeneuve’s adaptation of Frank Herbert’s novel series, which follows Paul Atreides as he and his family/House are thrust into a war for their deadly planet and the life-extending “spice” that it holds. Feb. 29 will be the final day “Dune” is available to watch on Netflix, but “Dune” fans don’t have long to wait for more Arrakis action: “Dune: Part Two” is out in theaters the next day, March 1.

“Stand by Me” | Thursday, Feb. 29
Rob Reiner’s classic coming-of-age drama brings Stephen King’s “The Body” from page to screen. The film also features Richard Dreyfuss, Kiefer Sutherland, Casey Siemaszko, John Cusack, Marshall Bell, and more. Don’t forget to stock up on the cherry flavor Pez before you watch.
