“Get Out” | Friday, Jan. 5

Jordan Peele’s 2017 directorial debut shifted the culture and the conversations around horror, especially the closer to reality it gets, and has already continuously been ranked as one of the best movies of all-time. Daniel Kaluuya leads cast as Chris Washington, a young Black photographer who is invited to his white girlfriend Rose’s family’s house for a weekend, where he uncovers shocking secrets. “Get Out” also stars Allison Williams, Lil Rel Howery, LaKeith Stanfield, Bradley Whitford, Caleb Landry Jones, Stephen Root, and Catherine Keener.

“The Killing of a Sacred Deer” | Monday, Jan. 22

“Poor Things” director Yorgos Lanthimos turns to Greek tragedy for his inspiration, using Euripedes’ “Iphigenia in Aulis” to tell the story of a heart surgeon whose spotless surbuban life is soon invaded by a fatherless teen with a connection to his past, after which his family mysteriously begins to fall ill. Colin Farrell, Nicole Kidman, Barry Keoghan, Raffey Cassidy, Sunny Suljic, Alicia Silverstone, and Bill Camp star.

“Call Me by Your Name” | Wednesday, Jan. 31

Luca Guadagnino closes out his desire trilogy (“I Am Love,” “A Bigger Splash”) with the 2017 Oscar nominee starring “Wonka” star Timothée Chalamet as 17-year-old Elio and Armie Hammer as his 24-year old graduate student assistant to Elio’s father, chronicling their relationship in 1983 Northern Italy. The coming-of-age drama also stars Michael Stuhlbarg, Amira Casar, Esther Garrel, and Victoire Du Bois.

“La La Land” | Wednesday, Jan. 31

Damien Chazelle makes his “Whiplash” follow-up with the musical that harkens back to Old Hollywood. Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone star as a struggling jazz pianist and an aspiring actor, respectively, who meet and fall in love while pursuing their starry-eyed dreams in Los Angeles. John Legend, Rosemarie DeWitt, Finn Wittrock, and J. K. Simmons make up the supporting cast of the six-time Oscar winner, which now has a stage musical adaptation in the works.
