Viaplay is a video on demand service focused on Nordic storytelling with more than 1,500 hours of award-winning content. The content library includes “Trom,” “Furia,” and “Partisan.” The line-up also includes Viaplay’s provocative young adult drama “Threesome,” a broad range of compelling documentaries, and much more.
The service launches in Canada on March 7, 2023.
We tested Viaplay and other subscription streaming services for more than 100 hours. Viaplay is compatible with Amazon Fire TV, Apple TV, Google Chromecast, Roku, Android TV, iPhone/iPad, Android Phone/Tablet, Mac, Windows, Sony Smart TV, and VIZIO Smart TV.
Viaplay Originals include the Nordic noir series “Cell 8” with Freddie Wise, “Fenris,” “Honour,” the Canneseries winner “Partisan” and “Those Who Kill;” the dramas “Harmonica,” “Love Me” and “Pernille;” the young adult shows “A Class Apart,” “Delete Me,” “Threesome” and “Thunder in My Heart;” and many more.
Viaplay drama series include “Catch and Release,” “Exit,” “Gåsmamman,” “Thin Blue Line,” and “Wallander.”
Viaplay’s movie library includes films like “A Man Called Ove,” the Oscar-winning dark comedy “Another Round” with Mads Mikkelsen, the historical drama “The Emigrants,” and with the dark financial series “Exit” - one of Norway’s most streamed dramas ever.
Other titles will include “As in Heaven,” “Borg vs. McEnroe,” “I Am Zlatan,” “Margrete: Queen of the North” and the Oscar-nominees “A Royal Affair” and “The Square.”
No Parental Controls
There are no parental controls for Viaplay.
Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Max, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount Plus, Peacock, SHOWTIME, and STARZ have parental control features.
Viaplay allows you to download certain content for offline viewing.
