Viki Review
Viki is an on-demand video streaming service with programming from China, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan. Viki has thousands of titles that are sourced from Asian distribution and production firms, along with its own original programming.
Content is subtitled and translated into more than 200 languages. Users who aren’t native speakers can study Chinese, Japanese, and Korean with its Learn mode.
The community element allows viewers to interact online and provide comments. There is even a Fan Collections section, where there are 640 viewer-curated show playlists.
There are two subscription plans: Viki Pass Standard ($5.99 / month) that gives viewers access to “Standard” level shows and movies in HD quality with no ads plus first access to Viki Exclusives, Viki Originals, Movies, and Global Dramas.
The second tier is Viki Pass Plus with KOCOWA which unlocks “Plus” titles along with “Standard” content plus hundreds of hours of additional Korean entertainment from the top broadcasters.

Originals
Viki’s first venture into original programming was “Dramaworld.” The show was the first joint American-Korean TV series. The Korean show “Five Year,” was the next show created by the service. Another original show, “When You Call My Name,” is the most popular amongst Viki’s subscribers, with a 9.8 out of 10 rating. The Viki Original feature “Go Go Squid!” has a 9.6 ranking.
TV Shows
There are approximately 1,690 shows on the platform. Highly-rated shows include the “What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim,” “Descendants of the Sun,” “True Beauty,” “Boys Over Flowers,” “The Legend of the Blue Sea,” and lots more.
Movies
Its content is organized into the following categories: Action, Adventure, Anime, Comedy, Cartoons, Costume & Period, Crime & Mystery, Classics, Drama, Dance, Independent, Horror, Korean Drama, Romantic Comedy, Sports, Thriller & Suspense, and lots more.
Viki has 417 movies on the platform, of which the most popular is Chinese film “The Maid of the Blind Master.” Other popular full-length features include “On Your Wedding Day,” “Mr. Wacky,” “The Divine Fury,” “Midnight Runners,” “The Palace,” among many others.
Kids
There is a Family & Kids section on the service with about 66 popular titles like “My Father is Strange,” “The Return of Superman,” “Mother of Mine,” “The Good Witch,” “My Only One,” “Reply 1988” and many other kid-friendly content.
Features
No Parental Controls
There are no parental controls for Viki.
Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, Disney+, Max, Hulu, Netflix, Paramount Plus, Peacock, Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, and STARZ have parental control features.
Offline Downloads
Only Viki Pass Plus subscribers have access to the Offline Viewing feature. Downloaded titles only stay on your device for a certain period. Rental titles will expire within 48 hours and other downloaded title will display a countdown, stating the duration left to watch before it expires.
International Access
A Viki Pass subscription does not include access to geo-blocked content or regionally restricted content. If the show you want to watch is unavailable in your region, subscribing to Viki Pass will not remove this restriction.
