The moment global soccer fans have been anticipating for years has finally arrived. The 2026 FIFA World Cup is set to begin on Thursday, June 11, with 48 national soccer teams from around the world set to compete at sites across the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

DIRECTV’s MySports Genre Pack is the first stop for many sports fans who are looking to stream major events. But what about the World Cup? What kind of access will the MySports Genre Pack have for fans who are looking to stream World Cup matches live? We’ll explain below.

What you need to know about watching the 2026 FIFA World Cup with DIRECTV’s MySports Genre Pack

Does MySports carry World Cup channels?

Games from the 2026 FIFA World Cup will air on Fox and FS1 in the United States, with most contests slated to air on the Fox broadcast network. Both channels are included as part of the standard MySports package, which features 20+ total channels. So, you will definitely be able to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a DIRECTV MySports subscription in most markets.

There is one important caveat to remember, however: DIRECTV is currently in a carriage dispute with E.W. Scripps, which owns some Fox affiliates around the country. So, make sure you check with DIRECTV to ensure your Fox station is available before signing up.

Can you watch multiple World Cup games at once with MySports?

Yes! DIRECTV offers a non-customizable multiview called Mix Channels that allows viewers to watch up to four selections at the same time. Viewers will be able to use Mix Channels to watch multiple World Cup games in time slots where games are appearing on Fox and FS1 at the same time.

What else can you watch with DIRECTV MySports?

The MySports Genre Pack offers a fantastic selection of the top sports channels in the United States. Customers will be able to watch the conclusion of the 2026 NBA and NHL Finals on ABC, the Men’s College World Series, the Wimbledon tennis tournament on ESPN channels, and much more.

That’s just for the month of June, too. MySports will carry a huge number of college and pro football games when autumn rolls around, and customers can add the MyHome Team mini-pack add-on to add their regional sports network (RSN) to the mix to watch in-market MLB games as well.

Can you watch the World Cup on MySports in Spanish?

The MySports Genre Pack will carry all 104 games from the 2026 FIFA World Cup in English in most markets, but Spanish-language fans will need to seek out a different package to watch in that language. Spanish broadcasts of World Cup games will be offered on Telemundo and Universo in the United States, and neither of those channels is in the MySports package.

The good news is that DIRECTV does offer Telemundo and Universo in its MiEspañol Genre Pack, which costs $35 per month normally but is discounted to $30 for a new subscriber’s first two months. MiEspañol has 60+ channels, as well as a ViX subscription.

How much is a DIRECTV MySports subscription?

DIRECTV’s MySports Genre Pack usually costs $65 per month after a five-day free trial for new subscribers. But for a limited time, new customers can sign up for a subscription for just $50 per month for their first two months of service — $30 in total savings.

Can you watch the World Cup for free with DIRECTV MySports?

You will be able to stream part of the tournament for free with DIRECTV! DIRECTV’s MySports Genre Pack does not offer a free trial long enough to watch the whole 2026 FIFA World Cup, but it does include a five-day trial for new customers who have never signed up for DIRECTV before.
