There’s plenty of great TV premiering this week to help you transition back into working mode after the holidays.
The first full week in January is always a slog. ‘WWE Raw’ premiere | Netflix
Obviously, “WWE Raw” is not a new show. But it is headed to a new broadcast home, leaving linear TV behind and beginning a new partnership with Netflix that starts on Monday night! Some of the biggest names in wrestling, such as Roman Reigns, Cody Rhodes, and many other stars will be on hand to celebrate.
It will be particularly fascinating to see if Netflix can deliver weekly episodes of “Raw” without major technical problems. Its livestream of the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight in November was beset with issues, and its Christmas Day NFL games also experienced some glitches — though that experience proved to be better for most. Can Netflix solve the problems well enough to offer “Raw” on a consistent basis?

‘The Pitt’ series premiere | Max
“The Pitt” is a highly realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today’s America. The series is seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working to save lives in a modern-day hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where even a fraction of a second’s delay can mean the difference between life and death.
For fans of medical dramas like “ER,” “The Pitt” could offer something that hasn’t been available on TV in a long time. There are plenty of more fanciful shows like “Grey's Anatomy” or “St. Denis Medical” available, but “The Pitt” could inject a shot of realism into the proceedings that fans haven’t gotten with a scripted medical show in a long time.
