Want to see your unofficial ‘Netflix Wrapped’ statistics for the year?

The website Kapwing will allow you to upload your Netflix viewing data and see what you’ve watched this year.

Known for breaking major streaming stories, he’s covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock’s ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting.
A website is bringing back its unofficial Netflix Unwrapped for the year

Netflix has gone much further than other streaming services in providing certain viewership metrics. Twice per year, the world’s largest streamer unleashes a mountain of data, showing how much viewing its series and movies have gotten in the preceding six months. But that’s still a highly impersonal view of your data, and the website Kapwing wants to help you focus in on the titles you personally have watched most.

Key Details:

  • Kapwing offers an unofficial “Netflix Wrapped” service that breaks down your personal viewing for the year.
  • Viewers need only upload their downloaded Netflix viewing history for the year, and Kapwing does the rest.
  • Streamers may choose to show more in-depth breakdowns to viewers themselves in the future.

It’s incredibly easy to use Kapwing’s unofficial “Netflix Wrapped” feature. All you have to do is access your viewing activity on Netflix, then scroll down to the bottom of the page to “Download All.” Once you’ve done this, you’ll be ready to head to Kapwing’s website to upload that data and see your results.

Kapwing’s service is the closest thing to the famed “Spotify Wrapped” year-end wrap-up of your viewing history. It will show you your minutes watched, break down the number of TV shows vs. movies you streamed, your most bingeful day, the highest-rated/lowest-rated shows you saw, detail your favorite genres, display the titles you watched most thoroughly, and show the actors or directors that are in multiple titles you watched.

“Netflix Wrapped is something that we’re really proud of,” Kapwing head of content Liam Curtis told What's on Netflix. “The ‘minutes watched’ section and ‘most bingeful day’ are the most popular features, for sure. It’s fun to look back and remember that day you decided to start re-watching a certain series and couldn’t stop — in my case, ‘Stranger Things’ in October! The tool combines individual stats with information pulled from across the web to give users some extra context about their data. I think that’s what makes the tool stand out.”

The Spotify Wrapped feature is popular enough to spawn unofficial clones like Kapwing’s free service, which tells me that in the future some streamers may decide to roll out official versions of “Wrapped” for themselves. It makes for a more immersive streaming experience, and could even lead some customers to think of a service as indispensable when it comes time to reevaluate a streaming budget.
