When will ‘Zootopia’ 2 be available to stream?
Disney’s newest animated sequel is a huge hit with fans, but when will it be streaming at home?
Did you head to the theaters during the Thanksgiving holiday to check out “Zootopia 2”? If so, you were hardly alone; the movie rocketed to a $156 million domestic estimated gross over the holiday weekend, the second-best five-day Thanksgiving premiere Disney has ever seen en route to a $500 million global opening. The film is a hit with fans and critics alike, but when will you be able to watch it at home with a subscription? We give our best prediction here.
Key Details:
- Holiday favorite: “Zootopia 2” has gotten good marks from both reviewers and audiences.
- Down for Disney+?: Disney+ is the obvious destination for “Zootopia 2” when it streams.
- Long wait likely: It seems a foregone conclusion that “Zootopia 2” will take longer than 100 days to stream on Disney+.
Return to Zootopia with detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde as they find themselves hot on the trail of a mysterious reptile whose arrival in town has turned things completely upside-down. To solve the case, the pair must head to new parts of the city, facing tests to their new partnership that their relationship has never seen before.
“Zootopia 2” has been hailed by both critics and holiday weekend audiences as a worthwhile way to spend a couple of hours. The film sports a 91% on Rotten Tomatoes for reviewers, and a 95% audience score, indicating that pretty much everyone who has watched the movie has liked it.

When will ‘Zootopia 2’ be available to stream at home?
Since “Zootopia 2” comes from Walt Disney Animation Studios, it’s easy to say where the movie will be available to stream once viewers are able to watch it with a subscription. Plainly, the movie will stream on Disney+ once Disney decides it’s ready to head to the on-demand world.
How long will that take? I’m going to use last year’s Thanksgiving release from Disney “Moana 2” as the starting point for my estimate here. Like “Zootopia 2,” “Moana 2” was a huge hit at the box office when it came out on Nov. 27, 2024. That led to the movie not being released to stream on Disney+ until March 12 — just two days before The Streamable predicted it would arrive.
I see no reason to deviate from the 105-day window used by “Moana 2,” so I’ll predict that “Zootopia 2” won’t be available to stream on Disney+ until March 11. The good news is, the original movie is available to stream on Disney+ now, if you need a “Zootopia” fix!
