When will ‘Monday Night Raw’ air when the WWE is in Europe?
A trip across the pond has necessitated a broadcast change on Netflix over the next two weeks.
Last week, Netflix kicked off its second year as the home of the WWE’s flagship show “Monday Night Raw” with a special edition that brought the spooky world of “Stranger Things” to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. However, that wasn’t the only unusual change coming to “Raw” in January. On Jan. 12 and 19, the promotion’s superstars will be in Europe, so the normal 8 p.m. ET start time is being adjusted.
Key Details:
- Taking the show on the road: For the next two Mondays, the WWE will broadcast “Monday Night Raw” from Europe.
- Change of plans: The road trip will necessitate a schedule change as the show will air in the afternoon on Netflix for the next two weeks.
- Let’s get ready to rumble: The action leads up to the annual Royal Rumble at the end of the month.
On Monday, Jan. 12, “Raw” will be broadcast live from Düsseldorf, Germany, as The Ring General Gunther takes on AJ Styles. However, because of the time difference, the show will start six hours earlier than normal. Wrestling fans will be able to catch a rare afternoon (or even morning) show when action gets underway at 2 p.m. ET.
In addition to the first-ever meeting between The Phenomenal One and The Ring General, other WWE superstars include WWE World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk, World Tag Team Champion Jey Uso, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion Rhea Ripley, Logan Paul, Bron Breakker, Bronson Reed, and more.

Then, on Monday, Jan. 19, the WWE will set up shop in Belfast, Northern Ireland, meaning that the weekly broadcast will get underway on Netflix at 3 p.m. ET. While no card has officially been announced for this show yet, it wouldn’t be surprising if Irish superstars JD McDonagh, Lyra Valkyria, Becky Lynch, Sheamus, or Finn Bálor are on hand.
While the unusual schedule might wreak a little bit of havoc for American wrestling fans, the WWE has long tried to be an international brand, and having signed a massive deal with Netflix, that is likely only going to continue. The decade-long, $5 billion agreement not only makes the world’s largest streamer the home of “Monday Night Raw” in the States, but it also makes Netflix the home of the WWE’s monthly premium live events around the world.
While the new ESPN streaming service carries those cards in the U.S., with the Royal Rumble coming up on Jan. 31, there is no doubt that both Netflix and the WWE want to remind fans around the world of what is on deck from the sports entertainment behemoth.
