What the heck is going on with ‘Dick Turpin’ Season 2?
Noel Fielding’s show about an 18th-century highway robber is coming back for a second season„,right?
The famous highwayman Dick Turpin and his band of merry followers were supposed to have quite a long runway in “The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin,” the historical comedy series headed by Noel Fielding on Apple TV+. The show reportedly had ideas and stars aplenty lined up for its second season, but new reports indicate that all of those plans are likely for not. Below, we’ll fill you in on everything you need to know about the show’s potential return.
Everything we know about ‘The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin’ Season 2
Will there be a second second season of ‘The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin’
The original answer to this question was supposed to be a resounding, “Yes.” Production had begun on Season 2, and Apple had gone so far as to promise that it would guest star “a host of great British comedy talent.” But things began to go sideways for “Dick Turpin” Season 2 right after the holidays.
However, numerous reports indicate that Fielding never returned from a holiday trip to France, throwing the production schedule into chaos. The show had finished filming around three-quarters of the new season, but Fielding’s refusal to return to set has caused production to be shut down — apparently for good.
According to Deadline, representatives at Fielding’s talent agency said, “One of the main cast members who has not been well is not recovered enough to complete the filming.” Production sources said the cast member in question was Fielding.
So, there will not be a second season of “Dick Turpin” after all, reportedly due to the mercurial nature of the show’s star.
