WWE library content debuts on Netflix

WWE library content debuts on Netflix

Subscribers can now watch past versions of WWE premium events like “Royal Rumble,” “Summer Slam,” and “WrestleMania” on Netflix.

Netflix has a belated New Year’s gift for its subscribers. At this time last year, the streamer began a landmark deal to stream episodes of “WWE Monday Night Raw” live every week, and now the streamer has even more wrestling content to offer viewers. Starting Tuesday, Netflix subscribers in the United States can stream the wrestling promotion’s library of premium live events.

Key Details:

  • Past and present: Domestic Netflix subscribers can watch WWE’s library of premium live events.
  • Fly the coop: WWE’s PLE library had previously streamed on Peacock.
  • Lots of changes: Live streams of WWE PLEs have also changed hands recently.

WWE’s library of premium live events (PLEs) — formerly pay-per-views — such as “Royal Rumble,” “Summer Slam,” and “WrestleMania” is now available to stream on Netflix. Viewers can watch past versions of these events to their heart’s content with any Netflix subscription, starting with the $8 Standard with Ads plan.

These PLEs had been hosted by Peacock since 2021, but NBCUniversal is slowly saying goodbye to its WWE content. Live PLEs in the United States shifted from their former NBCU streaming home on Peacock to the new ESPN direct-to-consumer service in 2025, and the library content was next to go.

Peacock was scheduled to lose its WWE back catalog at the end of December, and there was plenty of speculation as to which platform would acquire that content. Netflix and ESPN were always considered the strongest contenders, and now that prediction has come to fruition.

Sports Business Journal reports that WWE’s deal with Netflix for library content is non-exclusive, so there’s a chance that these past PLEs will also stream on ESPN or somewhere else in the future as well. But wrestling fans who want to take a walk through WWE history should head to Netflix now and dive in!

Recently, Netflix has expanded beyond standard movies and TV titles with the addition of video podcasts, and is also exploring a digital store that would offer third-party streamers within the app.

Netflix offers three plans – stream on 2 devices in HD with the “Standard with Ads” ($8.99) plan, on 2 devices in HD with the “Standard” ($19.99) plan, and 4 devices in up to 4K on the “Premium” ($26.99) plan.
