Xfinity revamps national TV plan pricing
Xfinity TV plans now feature all-in pricing, and have been rebranded to help viewers make their choice more easily.
Xfinity TV is changing the way it does business, hopefully to the betterment of its relationship with customers. On Wednesday, Xfinity announced it was simplifying and rebranding its TV packages, with all-in pricing that includes the major fees customers will have to pay and discounts available to viewers who bundle a TV package with an Xfinity internet plan.
Key Details:
- It’s all there: Xfinity TV plans now come with all-in pricing that includes major fees in the listed cost.
- Range of options: Plans range in price from $65 to $135 per month.
- Bundle and save: Discounts are available to customers who combine Xfinity TV plans with internet subscriptions.
Per Xfinity TV, all of its video packages will include an X1 TV set-top box, which will deliver its channels and allow them to download top streaming apps on the same device. The X1 is compatible with Ultra-High-Definition 4K content, and is included in the cost of each plan.
The all-in pricing that Xfinity TV plans now come with includes all major fees, so there aren’t any nasty surprises when your monthly bill arrives. Plans start at $65 per month, and span all the way up to $135 depending on which plan you want.
Xfinity TV now offers the TV Core plan for $65 per month, the Sports & News TV plan for $90 per month, the World Soccer Ticket plan for $95 per month, the TV Plus plan for $105 per month, or the TV Premium plan for $135 per month. These packages may have new names, but the channel lineup in each is the same as it was previously.
Customers who bundle their Xfinity TV package with an internet plan from the company can save $10 per month on their service. In addition, all plans above the TV Core package now include 300 hours of DVR storage, and viewers can watch their package at home or on the go with the Xfinity Stream app.
“Like we did with Xfinity Internet, we’ve simplified and reimagined our video packages, making it easy and hassle-free for our customers to enjoy great content on the best and most innovative entertainment experience,” Comcast executive Steve Croney said. “When combined with Internet and mobile, our new video packages offer unmatched value, plus there’s even more opportunity for savings with bundles like Xfinity StreamSaver.”
Xfinity TV customers can also sign up for the StreamSaver bundle, which combines Apple TV, Netflix, and Peacock at a price of $18 per month as of Dec. 18. Until then, customers can sign up for the bundle at the launch price of $15 per month.
NOW TV
NOW TV is a live TV streaming service exclusively available to Xfinity Internet customers that comes with over 40 channels for $20/month. The “skinny bundle” is some of the more popular channels (like A&E, Discovery Channel, HGTV, TLC) at an easy-to-afford price and will appeal most to fans of NBC & lifestyle channels. It does not offer news, sports, or local channels, but you get access to NBC and some live sports through Peacock which NOW TV users get for free.
