STARZ, YouTube TV Reach New Multi-Year Carriage Agreement, Announce Add-On Deal
The new deal will ensure that YouTube TV subscribers continue to have access to shows like ‘Outlander’ and ‘Sweetpea.’
One of the reasons YouTube TV has managed to acquire 8 million paid subscribers is the good balance of channels available on the service. YouTube TV carries dozens of the most popular cable channels on the market, and customers can pay a little extra every month to add the Starz premium network to their subscription if they wish. That convenience will continue for the foreseeable future, as on Tuesday Starz and YouTube TV announced a new, multi-year carriage deal with the potential for more bundle opportunities.
Key Details:
- Viewers can add Starz to their YouTube TV subscription for $11 per month.
- The channel will debut the second half of “Outlander” Season 7 in November.
- Starz is available to bundle with Max and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME as well as MGM+ on YouTube TV.
The new deal means that YouTube TV customers will still be able to add Starz to their subscription for $11 per month. Doing so grants viewers access to both linear and on-demand content from Starz, including the upcoming Season 7, Part 2 of “Outlander,” which premieres on Nov. 22.
“We are excited to deepen our partnership with YouTube TV, the fastest-growing pay TV distributor,” Starz Networks president Alison Hoffman said. “This partnership further enhances our ability to deliver Starz’s extensive collection of premium programming to broader audiences at an exceptional value.”
The deal will run for multiple years, continuing a relationship that first started when Starz initially launched on YouTube TV in 2018. The deal could mean more bundling opportunities for Starz, which is already available to subscribe to in a multitude of packages.
Customers of YouTube TV can sign up for Starz on its own, or grab it in the Entertainment Plus bundle with Max and Paramount+ with SHOWTIME for an additional $30 per month on top of a YouTube TV base plan. Customers can also bundle the STARZ on-demand service with BritBox if they go directly through the STARZ website.
The aggregated distribution of Starz and YouTube TV is a boon for customers, who can keep all their TV bills in one place and not worry about losing track of a subscription in such a setup. STARZ is also available as a standalone subscription with no need for a pay-TV plan like YouTube TV for $11 per month.
