BritBox Review
BritBox is a hub for hundreds of TV shows and films produced in the UK. Enjoy your favorite classics like Doctor Who (1963) and Mr. Bean (1990), new original series like Sticks and Stones (2019) and There She Goes (2018), and watch special live events, tune into premieres, and keep up to date with current affairs and soap operas streaming direct from the UK. Oftentimes programming that premieres in the UK can be viewed internationally at the same time via the service.
BritBox only allows for one profile, but this Standard ($8.99) plan is 100% ad-free, supports offline downloads, features extensive parental controls (and some limited programming for children), and has a selection of over 150 films from a broad range of genres. Enjoy Britbox on devices up to 1080p on any of the devices listed below. Though niche, if you’re looking for excellent programming direct from the UK - both classic and current - BritBox is the service you want.

The service does stream selected live events as well. Previous live events include the Royal Wedding, Carols from King’s, Remembrance Day, Trooping the Colour and more. Most live streams will offer encore streams for on-demand viewing a few hours after the event concludes.
TV Shows
The main draw of BritBox is that it’s a prime hub for many of the best TV shows produced in the UK. A second home for HBO’s Downton Abbey (2019), BritBox also features many other favorites such as Death in Paradise (2011), All Creatures Great and Small (1978), https://thestreamable.com/shows/father-brown-2013 text Father Brown (2012), and Murder, Mystery, and My Family (2018).
Movies
In addition to its many TV Shows, BritBox also has an impressive collection of films. Many of them are mysteries, like The Murder in Angel Lane (2013), Sherlock Holmes and the Case of the Silk Stocking (2004), and Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials Mystery (1981), but the service also has many adaptations of Shakespeare’s works; Richard II (1978), the Winter’s Tale (1981), The Tempest (1980) and more. BritBox has a plethora of other films, as well, from a wide variety of genres ranging from musicals to sports, comedy to horror, and fantasy to documentary.
Kids
While BritBox does not have a designated kids’ section, the service did recently add programming with children in mind: Children’s Ward (1989), The Worst Witch (1988), and the first season of Press Gang (1989), Steven Moffat’s comedy-drama about a children’s newspaper. Parents can also elect to toggle on parental controls by using a 4-digit PIN.
