Top 6 reasons you should stream Sports Equinox on DIRECTV
All four of the top major leagues in the United States are in action tonight, and we love DIRECTV for watching each and every game.
Monday night will feature a sporting event that fans look forward to every year: The Sports Equinox. The NFL, MLB, NBA, and NHL all have games scheduled for tonight, Oct. 27, and if that wasn’t enough for fun, there are even a couple of Major League Soccer games on the slate as well. We’ve already laid out all the ways you can watch the Sports Equinox, and we recommended DIRECTV as our favorite method to stream the evening’s festivities. But why is DIRECTV the best way to stream it? See our six reasons why.
Our six reasons you should watch the Sports Equinox on DIRECTV
Full access to every game
Let’s start with the biggest reason that DIRECTV is our favorite streaming service for watching the Sports Equinox tonight: full access to the games that make up the thrilling evening! DIRECTV has ABC, ESPN, Fox, FS1, and NHL Network, so you’ll have full access to “Monday Night Football,” Game 3 of the World Series, the NHL’s top matchup of the night, and the MLS slate for the evening.
You can also watch regional sports networks with DIRECTV’s Signature packages starting with the CHOICE plan, including FanDuel Sports Network channels, which many other live TV streaming services don’t offer. That unlocks a huge selection of NBA games, and most DIRECTV packages also come with the ESPN Unlimited, so you can watch the NHL game not appearing on NHL Network. DIRECTV offers full access to each game, which makes it one of the many great reasons to stream the Sports Equinox with them.
Five-day free trial
If you choose to receive your DIRECTV channel package through your own streaming device, the service lets you enjoy a five-day free trial, whether you choose a Signature plan or Genre Pack. That means any customers who are new to DIRECTV will get to enjoy tonight’s Sports Equinox at a highly affordable price of $0, and they’ll get to enjoy all the programming that comes with their package for the rest of the week at no cost.
Choose your plan
As alluded to already, DIRECTV has a couple of different ways for you to watch tonight’s Sports Equinox. First, you can choose one of DIRECTV’s Signature plans; these start at $90 per month normally, though with the streamer’s special promotion, you can get your first month for just $50. These plans are a lot closer to the pay-TV packages of old, with large channel counts and programming from essentially every genre.
DIRECTV’s MySports Genre Pack will also let you watch tonight’s Sports Equinox, and save money at the same time. MySports costs $70 per month, though it is discounted to $60 for new customers for a limited time. This package includes ABC, ESPN, Fox, and FS1, as well as NHL Network and the ESPN Unlimited plan. You can add regional sports networks to the MySports pack as well with the MyHome Team mini-pack, which costs $20 per month on top of the base price.
Access to NHL Network
There are some live TV streaming services that don’t include NHL Network in any base plans, or even add-on packs. That could make things inconvenient if you want to sample all of the Sports Equinox offerings, since one of tonight’s two NHL games is on the channel. But DIRECTV offers access either through the MySports Genre Pack or through the Sports Pack add-on that you can purchase alongside any Signature channel plan for $15 per month.
Free streaming benefits
Perhaps no live TV streaming service has embraced on-demand streaming partnerships the way DIRECTV has. Viewers who choose to receive a channel plan through a Gemini device can get any DIRECTV Signature plan with Disney+ and Hulu included at no extra cost. The MySports Genre Pack comes with the ESPN Unlimited streaming service, whether you get your plan through your own device or through the Gemini Air, unlocking extra value with your package.
Sports Central hub helps you keep track
The Sports Central hub is one of the coolest features of a DIRECTV subscription. It allows you to identify your favorite teams, see when and where they’re in action next, update you with live scores, and show you what’s going on from league to league. It’s a great way to track the frenzy of a Sports Equinox, since many of these contests across leagues will be on at the same time.
DIRECTV
DIRECTV is one of The Streamable’s top choices for the best live TV streaming service overall in 2026, especially for users who want the most channels or want to watch the most live sports. With an unbeatable lineup of local, news, sports, and entertainment channels, three main signature packages, an unlimited DVR, and 20 simultaneous streams at home, DIRECTV remains a premier choice for any cord-cutter.
