Apple reveals 4th Gen Apple TV 4K, with A19 Chip and Siri AI
The new Apple TV streaming player will launch on Nov. 13, the company revealed on Tuesday.
Drips and drabs of information have been dropping about the new Apple TV 4K device for months, but Apple has been predictably tight-lipped about the new player — until Tuesday. The company has finally unveiled concrete details on what shoppers can expect from the fourth generation of Apple TV 4K, including its release date and a glimpse at the new Siri AI.
Key Details:
- One month to go: The new Apple TV 4K will launch on Nov. 13.
- New and improved: The model will feature Siri AI, an entirely new Siri powered by the next generation of Apple intelligence.
- Go hands-free: Far-field microphones will enable hands-free control with the Apple TV 4K.

The fourth-generation Apple TV 4K offers a large selection of premium features, and with them comes a premium price tag. The device will retail for $299 in the United States when it becomes available on Nov. 13. Interested consumers are able to begin preordering the devices starting today from the online Apple Store.
As was reported previously, the new Apple TV 4K will be equipped with Siri AI, a home assistant with “personal context understanding, broad world knowledge, and the ability to take even more systemwide app actions.”
Device owners will be able to ask Siri AI questions like, “Is this content appropriate for a 15-year-old?” Responses will appear in a discrete on-screen overlay that won’t interrupt the viewing session. Users with Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhones can even use personal context from the user to answer queries like “Play the movie Michael recommended.” Siri AI is available for beta testing on Apple TV 4K (2nd Gen and later) devices in the United States and other territories now.
The new Apple TV 4K will also feature the A19 chip, offering CPU performance up to 50% faster and double the GPU performance of previous devices. That is designed to lead to better responsiveness and faster navigation, as well as more efficient streaming thanks to a dedicated AV1 decoder. This should come in handy when using the Apple TV 4K for its primary function: watching streaming services like Apple TV, Disney+, Netflix, and others.
The new Siri Remote adds Find My Remote support, with Precision Finding and an option to play a sound from the remote itself when it’s lost. The Apple TV hardware will come with three far-field microphones, allowing owners to control playback and search for new content hands-free. The Apple website lists support for wired Ethernet, so it appears that customers will be able to use the Gen 4 Apple TV 4K wirelessly or with a wired connection.
Owners will also be able to use the new Apple TV 4K as a smart home hub. With a compatible smart doorbell, viewers can get notifications from their front door and speak with visitors and delivery persons without getting up from their couch. And in a first for Apple TV devices, the Apple TV 4K can also pair with up to four HomePod (Gen 2) or HomePod mini 2 speakers to create a surround sound experience.
