Apple TV app simplifies to help you find Apple TV+ shows

A refresh to the home screen of the Apple TV app should make it easier to tell which shows and movies you can watch on Apple TV+.

Known for breaking major streaming stories, he’s covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock’s ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting.
Apple TV has made some key changes to its interface to make browsing more easy for customers.

The all-in-one approach used by the Apple TV app has definite advantages. It shows viewers content they can rent or purchase from its digital store, items they can stream with subscriptions to apps like Disney+ or Max, and titles from Apple TV+ all on the home screen, but this can lead to some confusion for viewers as to whether or not they can watch all of this content just with an Apple TV+ subscription. Apple is launching some updates to its user interface to help simplify this experience and cut down on the confusion.

Key Details:

  • TV+ on top: The Apple TV app will now display three sections dedicated only to Apple TV+ content.
  • Just for you:These sections are followed by three dedicated to Your Channels and Apps.
  • Clear it up:The tweaks should help viewers better see titles they can stream on Apple TV+.

As reported by 9to5 Mac, the changes to the Apple TV app come via enhancements made with a backend update. When you open the Apple TV app on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple TV 4K device, you’ll see that the home screen has been reorganized a bit.

Underneath your Continue Watching row, you’ll see three Apple TV+ sections. These include Top 10 shows on the streamer, New Releases, and Must-See Hits, and all will be titles you can stream exclusively with an Apple TV+ subscription.

Next, you’ll notice three Your Channels and Apps rows. These will show you other content that you can watch with existing streaming subscriptions that aren’t necessarily a part of the Apple TV+ library. These should help viewers discern more easily which shows and movies are on Apple TV+, and which aren’t.

Next up comes a Sports section that serves as a catch-all for games from across apps and channels that could be relevant to the user. Keep scrolling, and you’ll see rows like Coming to Apple TV+ and recommendation sections for titles you might enjoy.

These updates should help to cut down clutter on the Apple TV home page and make it more apparent to the user which titles come with their subscriptions and which don’t. Apple also recently launched tvOS version 18.4, which came with more updates to help viewers get the most out of their Apple devices.

Apple TV

Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

…

In October 2025, Apple TV agreed to a deal with Formula 1 to exclusively broadcast all Formula 1 races starting with the 2026 season.

Apple TV also features coverage of all regular-season matches for Major League Soccer (MLS) at no additional cost.

On August 28th, 2026, the price of Apple TV was increased from $12.99 per month to $14.99 per month, the second increase in as many years.

The service is available worldwide through the Apple TV app, which is built into Apple devices and supported on most smart TVs, streaming players like Roku and Fire TV, game consoles, and web browsers. Subscribers can watch on demand, download episodes and movies for offline viewing, and stream in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, where available. Apple TV also offers family sharing, allowing up to six people to use one subscription at no extra cost.

With a competitive monthly price and bundles available through Apple One — which combines Apple TV with Apple Music, Apple Arcade, iCloud storage, and more — the service continues to grow as a key part of Apple’s ecosystem. Apple TV delivers one of the strongest collections of exclusive content in the streaming space for viewers seeking prestige originals, cinematic storytelling, and seamless access across devices.
