Apple TV preps for 2026 season with new Formula 1 content

Apple TV preps for 2026 season with new Formula 1 content

The streamer will begin hosting live F1 races in March, and wants fans ready to roll before then.

Known for breaking major streaming stories, he’s covered everything from Netflix policy shifts to Peacock’s ad-tier changes. A sci-fi fan and Toshiba Fire TV user, he brings sharp analysis and a love for the genre to his reporting.
Formula 1 is shopping its rights around, but its asking price might be too high.

It’s going to be a big year for live sports on the Apple TV streaming service. In October, Apple announced a five-year deal with F1 to stream all races, practice sessions, and more at no extra cost on its platform. Now, Apple has begun to roll out new F1-themed content to whet the appetites of fans before the debut of live races in March.

Key Details:

  • Getting started: New F1 content is rolling out on Apple TV.
  • Stream direct: The content will be available to play directly through the Apple TV app.
  • Coming soon: F1 races start on Apple TV in March.

As reported by 9to5 Mac, Apple is launching a new content section on its home page dedicated to Formula 1. The section is labeled “Get Ready for Formula 1 on Apple TV,” and includes highlight videos, schedule previews, and more.

I’m an Apple TV subscriber myself, though I don’t see the new Formula 1 content area on my home page just yet. That suggests a phased rollout, and while it’s a far cry from the Sports tab I recommended that the streamer add to its interface, it’s a good first step toward helping viewers find F1 content more quickly.

Videos included in this new section include:

  • Livery Reveal: Red Bull
  • 2026 F1 Rule Changes
  • A New Era of F1
  • Grand Prix Schedule
  • Sprint Schedule
  • F1 Academy Schedule
  • 2025 in Review
  • Abu Dhabi: Championship Decider
  • Lando Norris: Ride with the Champ
  • 2025 in F2 & F3

Audiences will be able to stream all F1 races of the 2026 season on Apple TV starting in March, with no extra cost to subscribers to watch. Apple picked up the rights to F1 races after the racing league departed from ESPN following the 2025 season, and F1 officials have since said that Apple's enthusiasm for the league helped seal the deal.

That enthusiasm is plainly apparent, thanks to the new F1 content now available on the Apple TV platform. If you don’t see it on your home page yet, keep checking back for its rollout!

Apple TV

Apple TV (formerly known as Apple TV+) is a subscription video streaming service for $14.99 per month, offering a growing slate of original series, films, documentaries, and specials. Unlike other platforms that combine licensed titles with originals, Apple TV is built entirely around exclusive programming, making it the home of critically acclaimed hits such as “Ted Lasso,” “Severance,” “The Morning Show,” and “Silo.” Its lineup continues to expand with award-winning dramas, comedies, family-friendly shows, and blockbuster original films like “CODA,” which won the Academy Award for Best Picture.

…

In October 2025, Apple TV agreed to a deal with Formula 1 to exclusively broadcast all Formula 1 races starting with the 2026 season.

Apple TV also features coverage of all regular-season matches for Major League Soccer (MLS) at no additional cost.

On August 28th, 2026, the price of Apple TV was increased from $12.99 per month to $14.99 per month, the second increase in as many years.

The service is available worldwide through the Apple TV app, which is built into Apple devices and supported on most smart TVs, streaming players like Roku and Fire TV, game consoles, and web browsers. Subscribers can watch on demand, download episodes and movies for offline viewing, and stream in 4K with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, where available. Apple TV also offers family sharing, allowing up to six people to use one subscription at no extra cost.

With a competitive monthly price and bundles available through Apple One — which combines Apple TV with Apple Music, Apple Arcade, iCloud storage, and more — the service continues to grow as a key part of Apple’s ecosystem. Apple TV delivers one of the strongest collections of exclusive content in the streaming space for viewers seeking prestige originals, cinematic storytelling, and seamless access across devices.
