Stream local news for less than $30 per month with this bundle
Assemble this bundle of three services and get all the latest local news updates you could want for only $27 per month.
Local news is a key programming segment among audiences across age lines. A 2023 survey found that local evening news was the most-watched program on broadcast TV channels for all age groups, and one of the main concerns cord-cutters have after canceling a pay-TV subscription is making sure they still have access to area-specific news stations.
With that in mind, I’ve assembled a bundle of three streaming services that will allow you to stream local news options for less than $30 per month. Keep reading and see what’s in the bundle to find out how much you can save over an expensive pay-TV subscription.
What’s the best budget streaming bundle for watching local news?
Paramount+ with SHOWTIME
The first streamer in the bundle is Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. This is the ad-free tier of Paramount+, and it includes a live stream of your local CBS stations in all markets of the United States. That will make your local evening news available daily, alongside live sports and other programming shown on CBS in your area.
You’ll also get access to the full Paramount+ and SHOWTIME libraries, complete with shows like “1923,” “The Agency,” “Landman,” “Yellowjackets,” and more. Paramount+ with SHOWTIME costs $13 per month, after a seven-day free trial.

Paramount Plus
Paramount+ is a subscription video streaming service that includes on-demand access to 40,000+ TV show episodes from BET, CBS, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nick Jr., and more. Get free access with a Walmart+ subscription.
Paramount+ includes “1883,” “Tulsa King,” “Star Trek: Discovery,” “SpongeBob SquarePants,” and “PAW Patrol.” Subscribers can watch the NFL, college football, The Masters, college basketball, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, Serie A, and NWSL. The service also offers the option to watch your live CBS affiliate. The upgraded ad-free package includes premium movies and shows from Showtime.
Peacock
Next up is Peacock. This streamer is quite similar to Paramount+, in that a live stream of your local NBC station is available in the Peacock Premium Plus tier. All programming your NBC channel shows will be available, including local news, sports, and entertainment. In addition, the full Peacock library streams ad-free with this plan. That means you’ll be able to watch Universal movies like “Nosferatu,” classics like “The Office,” newer originals like “Poker Face” and “Bel-Air,” and more.
Peacock Premium Plus costs $14 per month, $1 more than you’ll have to lay out to get Paramount+ with SHOWTIME. With these two services, however, you’ll get 24/7 access to both your local NBC and CBS stations.
