Here’s when we think you’ll be able to stream ‘Wolf Man’ at home
The new Universal monster movie is headed to theaters on Jan. 17.
Is it a full moon out? If so, you’d better stay in tonight. “Wolf Man” is on the prowl; the spooky new film debuts in cinemas officially on Friday, Jan. 17. We’ll fill you in on the details of the movie, and let you know when our experts think you can stream it from the comfort of your couch below.
Key Details:
- Reviews indicate “Wolf Man” is a worthy member of the monster flick family.
- “Wolf Man is distributed in the United States, which means it will head to Peacock first.
- There’s a good chance the wait for “Wolf Man” to stream will be a shorter one.

“Wolf Man” stars Christopher Abbott as Blake, a husband and father who inherits a remote family home in Oregon. But when he brings his family to the house, they find themselves under attack by some kind of creature. They barricade themselves inside, but soon Blake himself begins to show signs that he too will transform into a hideous monster.
Critics say this is a bit of a different “Wolf Man” than audiences are used to, and the reviews reflect that. “Wolf Man” has a 55% score from reviewers on Rotten Tomatoes, though 64% of preview audiences who have seen it so far say it’s a worthwhile trip to the movies.
When will ‘Wolf Man’ be streaming at home?
“Wolf Man” is the next in a long line of Universal-produced monster movies, stretching back decades. Many of those films can now be found on Peacock, which is where “Wolf Man” will also stream with a subscription once it is no longer a theatrical exclusive.
I think there’s a fairly good chance that “Wolf Man” will take a short path to Peacock, as well. Other Universal movies like “Cocaine Bear,” “Violent Night,” and “M3GAN” all spent just 49 days in theaters and on premium digital rental/purchase platforms before heading to Peacock, and I think “Wolfman” will do the same.
If that prediction holds true, “Wolf Man” will be ready to stream on Peacock starting Friday, March 7. That’s a week before the full moon for the month, so you’ll be safe to watch it without the windows boarded up…probably.
