Does Peacock have any local broadcast channels?
On-demand streamers are increasing the amount of live programming they offer. Does Peacock now offer any live broadcast channels?
On-demand streaming services like Peacock aren’t typically known for offering live streams of local broadcast channels. That duty is typically handled by live TV streaming services like DIRECTV, Fubo, and YouTube TV that have largely taken the place of traditional cable plans.
So, does that mean that Peacock doesn’t offer any live broadcast channel access? We’ll explain if you can stream any over-the-air channels live with a Peacock subscription and alternatives for accessing the content it doesn’t offer below! Let us help guide you to the local channels you value the most.
Does Peacock offer local broadcast channels? Everything you need to know
Does Peacock carry any local broadcast channels?
Peacock does carry one local broadcast channel: NBC. Both NBC and Peacock are owned by NBCUniversal, which has arranged for the channel to stream live on the platform in all 210 designated media areas (DMAs) in the United States.
Which Peacock plans carry local broadcast channels?
A live stream of NBC is only available in the Peacock Premium Plus plan, the mostly ad-free tier of Peacock that includes the streamer’s full on-demand library, access to marquee sports like NFL, MLB, NBA, and college sports games, as well as English Premier League soccer and more.
The Peacock Premium Plus plan costs $17 per month, or fans can subscribe annually for $170 per year. Viewers can subscribe directly through the Peacock website or through secondary platforms like Prime Video or YouTube TV’s Primetime Channels.
The Peacock Select and Peacock Premium plans do not carry a live stream of NBC in any markets.
Where does Peacock offer local broadcast channels?
As mentioned above, customers with the Peacock Premium Plus plan can watch a live stream of their local NBC station in all 210 DMAs in the United States.
How to find live channels on Peacock
To find your NBC station if you’re a Peacock Premium Plus subscriber, just find the Channels tab on the streamer’s connected TV app (left-hand menu), the mobile app (at the bottom of the screen), or at the top of the screen on the Peacock website. Here you will find NBC, as well as all other live channels included with your Peacock subscription.
Where else can you find and watch local broadcast channels?
While Peacock is certainly a viable option for watching NBC, it offers no access whatsoever to ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox, or PBS. Many live TV streaming services allow subscribers to watch all of these channels in the same package, and we’ll give you a little more detail about them below.
DIRECTV carries ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox, NBC, and PBS in all of its Signature channel packages, starting with the ENTERTAINMENT package at $90 per month. ABC, CBS, Fox, and NBC are also found in the MySports Genre Pack for $65 per month, or the MyNews package for $45 per month. All of these plans come with a five-day free trial for new subscribers.
Fubo offers ABC, CBS, and Fox in its slimmed-down Fubo Sports service, with 20+ channels for $56 per month. Fubo also carries ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox, and NBC in its Pro, Elite, and Deluxe plans, which start at $89 per month before taxes and fees. New Fubo customers get a free trial between one and seven days when they subscribe; the trial length can vary based on numerous factors.
Hulu + Live TV carries ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox, NBC, and PBS in its core channel package, which costs $90 per month after a three-day free trial. This streamer has just one channel package, but customers can upgrade to ad-free versions of the Disney Bundle if they elect to pay more per month.
YouTube TV offers all locals — ABC, CBS, The CW, Fox, NBC, and PBS — in its core plan for $83 per month, as well as several of its numerous genre plans. New customers can try YouTube TV for free for between two and 21 days, depending on variables like what time of month they subscribe and others.
